Four years ago when he first moderated a general election presidential debate, Chris Wallace was firm and funny in trying to get Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton to stop talking simultaneously.
“I’m not a potted plant here,” he said. “I do get to ask some questions.”
He’ll have more queries Tuesday when the 72-year-old “Fox News Sunday” host moderates the first of three scheduled debates between President Trump and Democrat Joe Biden. He’s the only host this fall who has been there before.

I got a bad feeling about tonight.
Wallace is going to get his ass handed to him when he debates Trump tonight.
I’m sure slow Joe will give Wallace “the goosebumps.”
A moderator should need no prep unless his intent is to debate people. A moderator at most should propose a question and MODERATE a debate.
The very fact he is “prepping” and has been doing so since last weekend tells the whole tale.
We do need to pray .
Wallace is so hard core never-Trump, I am sure they preped for his TDS attitude.
Let’s hope he is not a total dick.

The Daily Beast doesn’t often offer much in the way of insight, but there is something to this:
“If Joe Biden doesn’t soil himself on stage tonight, he will win the first debate. If you think that’s an unfairly low bar for the former vice president, take your complaints to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
Donald Trump has bet so much on Biden being a blithering idiot that it almost doesn’t matter what Trump himself does or says. Down in the polls, Trump desperately needs a game-changer, but he’s dependent on Biden’s poor performance to give him one. In sports vernacular, Trump doesn’t control his own destiny. Biden does.
That doesn’t mean it’s going to be an easy night for Biden, who has to avoid stepping on a rake. But can he? He’s already following step one, which is to arrive tanned and rested.”

To that, I would add that if Trump starts to wander off the path and into the weeds with a inject clorox type blooper, it’ll be a very. very long night.
I hope Biden drools and falls over while mumbling incoherently all night, as advertised. But I’m not counting on it.
