LIVE at 9 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Sept. 29: President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden take part in the first presidential debate between the two candidates. The Cleveland, Ohio event is moderated by “Fox News Sunday” anchor Chris Wallace.

Personal opinion (probably not popular): I think that it takes a lot to make Joe Biden look like a decent option. I think that Trump somehow managed to do that tonight. I think that he did a horrible job and came across as a jerk. I think a lot of people will have the same opinion.

To be clear, I’m a hard right conservative and will be voting for Trump. I can’t in any way at any time pull the lever for the liberal option. I just don’t think that Trump did his cause any good tonight.

Well said, and I totally agree even though this also won't be a popular opinion - as does my wife and a very good friend that I was texting with during the debate, both of who are rock solid conservatives.

As someone else said..Trump better accept some training for the next debate. He obviously did not prepare and thought he could just run tonight like he did a press conference where he fights with the reporters. BAD STRATEGY for a debate - especially one watched by (likely) 90 million plus people.

If we didn't lose the election tonight, I'd be shocked. Oh, I'm sure Trump will chalk up a loss to fraud, and there's likely to be a lot of it - but this loss will be on him, and acting like a jerk in front of ~90 million people, fraud aside.

It's great to be a "fighter" and I know FR loves that about him - but we're a relatively small chunk of the electorate. And these candidates need to appeal to a BROAD swatch of people..not just our little corner of the web here on FR. And do any of you think Trump REALLY appealed to most independents, suburban women, elderly voters, etc with that performance tonight? Not a chance.

I'm still voting for him, as is wife and good friend I mentioned - but none of us are nearly as confident as we were at 8:59 PM ET tonight.

Every elite government physicist in the world knows that the impact of CO2 on temperature is almost 100% saturated and adding more CO2 won’t have any significant impact on global temperature.

There is virtually no CO2 in the atmosphere.

4/100ths of a percent is awfully close to zero. That tiny fraction of this benign natural gas is not likely to have an "impact" on anything.

By contrast, Nitrogen is 78%, and Oxygen is 21% (that's 99%)

It was not the interruptions or scolding Trump, it was the way Wallace framed his questions to Trump and the way he disagreed with Trump on several occasions. He should have let them have at it. The format did not allow for a rebuttal so Biden called Trump names and lied aggressively and Wallace did not want to allow Trump to reply so Trump became aggressive. Only once did Wallace even try to stop the Biden name calling by asking him to show decorum, after that he let Biden call Trump any name he wanted.

This debate changed no minds, if anything it may have left so called independents wondering if it is worth voting for either candidate. The rest of us have already decided. If anything Biden lost on the law and order and on climate change.

I never watch Wallace’s Sunday show. It’s as bad as Todd’s Meet The Press.

Did you happen to notice Wallace quoted Plugs’ father ? Why ? I wasn’t aware his father was a prominent individual who’d be quotable. He was kissing Biden’s ass.

Wallace was a rude embarrassment. Plugs was a pathological liar, thug and bully. Trump, I don’t blame for any indignant reaction on his part. I wouldn’t sit back and take those lies and slander that came out of Plugs or Wallace’s obvious bias and interruptions. I’m amazed he showed enough restraint to not call “bull$hit” on both.

I expect the ultraleft media hate onslaught at once, calling Trump the usual despicable names and pejoratives (yet did you notice Plugs was calling names, “shut up” and whatnot ?) and declaring the China puppet “the winner.”
