An Aside, General MacArthur said after Ike won the presidency, “He was the best clerk I every had’, LOL The General had an ego. Ike served under MacArthur for many years (20?). Right up until the start of ww2.

Absolutely! 2021 will mark his 30th year on the court. That's a very respectable milestone to leave on.
Give President Trump and (hopefully) the Republican Senate the opportunity to fill that seat for ANOTHER 30 years.
