The US government executed Christopher Vialva, the first (b)lack inmate put to death as part of the Trump administrations July resumption of federal executions that ended a 17-year hiatus. [ ]
Thursdays execution came as the US grappled with racial disparities in its criminal justice system, with people taking to the streets across the US to protest against police brutality and racism. Of the 56 people on federal death row, 24, or almost half, are (b)lack. [
]
Prosecutors had said that Vialva, then 19, accompanied by gang affiliates, had staged a carjacking in Killeen Texas, killing Stacie and Todd Bagley in their car trunk by shooting them and then setting the vehicle on fire.
The Bagleys had pleaded for their lives while locked inside. [ ]
The Washington-based Death Penalty Information Center (DPIC) in a report earlier this month said racist bias persisted in the US capital punishment system
Under Trump, said the DPIC, the federal Justice Department had executed twice as many men this year than all of his predecessors combined going back to 1963.

Watch the black losers protest this guys execution .
Anyone who did what he did should have been executed a long time ago. Is the emphasis on his race meant to make an excuse for him?
I used to argue with anti death penalty people years ago and would tell them that life in prison wasn’t good enough. I would say that someday some bad judge would let them out someday and that someday has arrived. The death penalty also damn guarantees the dirtbag will never kill again. I also understand that some innocent people are condemned. But do a final year appeal and then finish it.
Perhaps this is a method of getting the attention of the mobs out there.
Just start executing EVERY violent offender with 2 or more convictions.
Shot someone? Firing squad
Raped someone? SLOW strangulation after anaesthetic-free castration
Rioting? Burned at the stake.
We’ve been coddling the criminal class for far too long. It’s time to let them know that we are fed up with their shenanigans.
(The above is sarcasm, for those in Rio Linda)
That’ll get the left screaming about the “cruel and unusual punishment” clause of the Eighth Amendment, no matter how much the suffering is earned.
The key to my sarcasm is: cruel AND unusual. Punishment can be cruel OR unusual, just not BOTH simultaneously.
It’s pure GENIUS, I tell you, GEEEENIUS!
I wonder what the Death Penalty Information Center had to say about the executions of Tim McVeigh and Larry Brewer, who dragged James Bird, a Black man to his death behind his pickup truck? OR what they have to say about Dylann Roof now that he’s on death row for shooting up the Mother Emanuel Church in Charelston, SC? Not that they don’t deserve it, but gotta hand it to the left. They think they’re slick when it comes to picking and choosing their battles

Hope he felt some fear and pain during this execution.
Reuters/AP, the modern day equivalent of Stalin’s Pravda, only a million times worse.
Only twice as many?
It needs to be ten times as many. Previous presidents allowed these vicious killers on death row to literally get away with murder. They turned the death penalty into a long vacation with free food and lodgings for life. Time to clear the backlog.
Need a quick line to execution in this country, to soft on crime
He’s dead, Jim.
Next!
Or maybe they meant on the same day :-) Maybe you can do cruel one day and unusual the other.
If they can distort the second amendment to mean that our founding fathers were talking about hunting, at a time when everyone hunted so there was no need to say it, then we can claim this.
It is such an absurd argument that it defies all logic.
it would be like passing an amendment today that everyone can go grocery shopping.
He deserved it... years ago

The Bagleys had pleaded for their lives while locked inside.
Vialva, in a video recording released by his lawyers Thursday, admitted to committing a “grave wrong” in killing the couple who at the time had been driving home from Sunday worship.
...the offender put to death - apparently converted to Islam ... not going to work out for you either in the after life
