At the risk of “you think YOU had it bad”, or such comments, I can say this now...
My SHTF moment was last month. I bugged out Labor Day weekend.
I bugged out with the clothes on my back and the contents of my car. No preps worthy of the name. I must start from scratch.
My former tribe mutinied and sold off most of our prepper gear, especially the icky, scary guns. They went back to just-in-time Walmart runs and fast food. And they totally embraced the BLM/A party line.
And the crowning irony is, I bugged out to a city that is now on fire - because there was nowhere else to go.
So, use me as a cautionary tale: even the best-laid plans and preps can be destroyed by those people you thought you could trust. My own personal lesson is:
Don’t Trust Anyone.
Wow Old Sarge. We will pray for you. God bless.
May you be safe and a light to those who are now around you and may you find peace through the storm you left behind. May you not falter in your faith, but grow even stronger and used by His hand and Spirit to be the hope that is His hope for those who are lost.
Keep on pressing on towards the goal, which is Christ Jesus.
That does sound worse. I wish you good fortune and good health. Sorry to hear about the traitors. There are people you can trust but always verify. Hope you find trustworthy friends. They are worth more than a lot material goods.
I’m sorry to hear of that.
I will be praying for you.
The best OPSEC (operational security) is to not let your friends and acquaintances know all your secrets and plans.
Retain approximately 30% of your own plans for your own survival.
Remember what President Reagan said :" TRUST,.. but verify !"
Betrayal by friends hurts deeply and callously, and has occurred since the time of Sampson, Jesus Christ, and into Julius Caesar, and beyond.
There is value in learning from history, and understanding human nature.
Most people have a price for betrayal, although they will not admit it; it is situationally dependent on what they see as "need" !
Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, you are correct with the ending part (regarding many around you). I have learned that the hard way. But there’s a few good brothers and sisters here at FR. People are often limited at what they can do.
