Sen. Ted Cruz blocked a ceremonial resolution honoring the life of the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg after Democrats, under the direction of Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, tried to use the occasion to push a political message.
The Texas Republican objected to language added to the resolution noting Ginsburgs reported dying wish that a successor not be chosen until after the election, according to the Texas Tribune.
Speaking from the Senate floor, Cruz said, Unfortunately, the Democratic leader has put forth an amendment to turn that bipartisan resolution into a partisan resolution.

Schumer? Every weekend when he takes the Amtrak to NY I await to hear the car he is on is broadsided by a freight train hauling sulfuric acid. That guy is as amiable as a cobra. It would be a fitting end. It would be a grand slam if the rest of the NYC delegation was with him.
Damn that Ted Cruz - he made Chuckie cry again.
Actually, I think she died and then SPRANG back to life for only a few moments to state that comment.(/s)

Schumer is even more pathetic than usual in those statements. What a weak little man.
If UpChuck is for it, it is a bad idea.
In life RBG expressed distaste President Trump.
But she walked it back because it is unethical for judges to publicly talk politics. So it is actually unkind to the memory of RBG to publicize an apocryphal story
- or even a true one - to the effect that she denigrated the sitting president on her deathbed.I do not say I sincerely do not believe that she said it - she undoubtedly survived as long as shed did precisely because of her motive to see another Democrat POTUS - but I do say that it is improper to discuss it.
And that certainly it is nothing for Republicans
in authority precisely because their voters did not want Democrats to nominate any more SCOTUS justices
to take into account.
