Republicans have enough votes to confirm President Donald Trumps next Supreme Court nominee, Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said late Monday.
Weve got the votes to confirm Justice Ginsburgs replacement before the election, Graham said during an appearance on Fox News Hannity.
Were going to move forward in the committee, were going to report the nomination out of the committee to the floor of the United States Senate so we can vote before the election. Thats the constitutional process, he added.

BREAKING NEWS: Mitt Romney is on board to go ahead and nominate a Supreme Court justice! 🚨— 𝓙𝓸𝓱𝓷 𝓡𝓮𝓮𝓼𝓮 📿 (@TrumperWavin) September 22, 2020
Breaking on Politico - Romney is a yes. Well, color me SHOCKED!
I'll believe it when I see it! We've been down this road before with Grahamnesty! Idle promises!
Certainly hope it's true!
Nappy off his meds again?
I’m on the fence about this as well, am kind of thinking LG would NOT say this unless he knew it would fail — before the election.
Ace McCain’s best bud is not really on our side, but occasionally does something for us, which does NOT further endear me to him.
Among them:
1. Even if Trump wins in a landslide on election night, the commies will somehow manage to tie it up in the courts of several states. SCOTUS can not be a possible 4:4 outcome.
2. Confirming prior to the election will deflate a number of leftist voters who would vote on this issue alone, Ginsberg's replacement (read: abortion).
3. Such a move by the (R)'s should galvanize at least some support (even if private at the ballot box) from some never Trumpers regarding judiciary picks and the possibility of yet another SCOTUS pick sometime in the next 4 years.
4. Assuming ACB, that just might bring into the Trump column a sizeable portion of the more moderate, "blue dog" (D) and independent Catholics. Trump already has the evangelicals so this would be a net pick-up that will go a long way to adding to a landslide and hopefully making it that much more difficult for the courts to overturn the results.
They must get this done.
I’d like to see Breyer retire soon also, since he’s getting old, and maybe one of ours swap out under Trump’s second term for someone younger with more longevity. Thomas? I like him, just wonder how long he wants to serve.
“Republicans are angry about what the Democrats did to Kavanaugh “
That’s what I think. This is going to be Payback X 10. The RATs asked for it.
JUST DO IT!!!
I don’t see this as a great idea. But it possible could backfire on the Democrats if they get ugly in the nomination process. Still, one wonders what the campaign is thinking doing this now.
Who should Trump nominate?
No identity politics please. Just nominate the best person, the most qualified person for the job.
And that person is Amy Coney Barrett.
When you do the right thing, you have nothing to apologize for, and you can stand behind your choice 100%.
Bigot!
Do it now (as soon as sitting shiva ends), limit debate and get a vote asap, imo.
Leader McConnell COULD bypass confirmation HEARINGS and go straight for a vote, seating the justice candidate almost immediately once known and picked.
I gave it a bogus email addy and 12345678 as password and it let me read the article.
I always use the remote control when Nap comes on.
The more is see her, the more loathsome she gets, but maybe she appeals to leftists.
New senators take office on Jan. 3.
I just saw a headline here on FR stating McConnell will not promise a vote before election day.
