Gingrich: Dems’ Supreme Court battle response makes ‘two big gambles’
Fox News ^ | Fox News | Talia Kaplan

Gingrich also noted on Monday that he thinks “the real question is can Mitch McConnell find 50 votes?”

“If he can, there is nothing the Democrats can do to stop a justice from being approved,” he continued.

On Monday, Gingrich explained the “two challenges” Democrats face.

He said the first challenge is that Democrats “are going to get more radical” and “more frantic.”

“You are going to see more crowds showing up at senators' houses and trying to intimidate people, you’re going to talk about packing the court in the future,” Gingrich said. “There will be sort of a frenzy because the truth is that they're powerless.”

He went on to say that “if the president nominates the people that we're looking at, they are people of faith and the Democrats have to be very careful when they have somebody like Kamala Harris who is … as openly anti-Catholic as she is to not get involved in an anti-religious thing.”

*************

Has Newt lost touch with reality? Democrats never have to be careful about saying anything because the media backs them all the way and there are never any consequences regardless of what nonsense they spout. Newt must be living in some distant past.

Are Democrats prepared to say a devout Catholic is by definition unfit to serve on the Supreme Court? If no pro-life Justice is acceptable then no faithful Catholic, Evangelical or Orthodox Jew can be considered. Are Democrats really prepared to alienate that many Americans?— Newt Gingrich (@newtgingrich) September 21, 2020

That’s what I was saying earlier. Both of the supposed front runners are Catholic. Feinstein already attacked Amy Coney Barrett for her Catholicism during her nomination hearing. Heels Up Harris has made similar statements. Let the Democrats do that again on record right before an election.

It’s another example of 4D chess by Trump.

He loves to screw the president, but even he can’t simply ignore the will of the people of Utah. Suuuuuure he can’t.

The hearings will be televised. The MSM won’t be able to hide it if the Democrats attack either Lagoa or Coney Barrett for their Catholicism.

Don’t think Trump won’t gleefully point that out

These aren’t Trump’s nominees to the Supreme Court. They are selected by Mitch McConnell and the GOP leadership. That’s why the silly drama surrounding the selections doesn’t stop the nominees from getting confirmed.

Gingrich said WRT RBG's replacement: “Expect a Democrat frenzy because they're powerless.
Democrats will get more radical and more frantic. We'll see crowds of virulent haters trying to intimidate people.
To make themselves feel good during the replacement, Dem talk will center on packing the court.”

Nanzi will sit it out......getting blown by her hairdresser....cackle.

Yeah, The Mittster (not calling him Milt or Pierre today) issued a statement Saturday and said that whomever it was who said he wasn't going to vote for the nominee was "grossly mistaken".

Now, I ain't suggesting to trust the guy, because he is a total sleaze with an agenda of his own, but that's what he said.

Says to me that he's either gonna support the nominee, or stab Trump in the back at the last minute - which he is quite capable of - but then consider the consequences if he does something like that.

So, cautious optimism for The Mittster on this one. This might be a first step, an ante, to his road to redemption, which would be very long, no doubt about it.

Only half or less of Democrats are totally radical and blind. Thee are still enough Democrat party line voters that can change their vote, there are still Reagan democrats out there that are not firmly behind Biden, he has low enthusiasm which helps Trump here.

Given COVID and the gathering threats of violence by the left, hearings should be cancelled.

Then, testimony from a few supporters of the nominee should be received, followed by a quick confirmation vote.

Much like how the House handled the impeachment process last winter.

That's excellent news. All the more reason to move REALLY quickly, like by the end of the month.

I read that but the Dems get away with saying all kinds of outrageous, untrue and libelous things and the media always runs cover for them. Being a Democrat means never having to say you’re sorry.

Its also pretty clear by now that Democrats don’t have much regard for religious beliefs and traditions. The only thing they worship is big government so attacking someone’s religious background is not something that deters them at all.

Democrats are not the problem

Three or four Republican zealots are the only problem

Do you know a single Democrat who would vote for Trump? But the even bigger question is do you know any who share our values? The truth is they fear (and I mean all of them) Trump because he believes in values that are antithetical to the expansion of big government and socialism. They dislike him, but they hate us even more. It is our values that they despise.
