President Donald Trump's announced Saturday night that the Supreme Court nominee he plans to announce next week to fill the vacancy left by Ruth Bader Ginsburg will be a woman, spotlighting two conservative women as his potential pick.
During a campaign rally in North Carolina, Trump declared 'I will be putting forth a nominee this week, it will be a woman', later adding his pick would be a 'very talented, very brilliant woman' because 'I like women more than I like men'.
As he left the White House for the rally, the president identified two women as front runners: Amy Coney Barrett, 48, of the Chicago-based 7th Circuit and Barbara Lagoa, 52, of the Atlanta-based 11th Circuit as possible nominees.

any clue as to what the stance of either "frontrunner" is on gun rights. I haven't found any mention of that subject yet. Both look good on the abortion front and much else.
Maybe.
I think that he could probably could get one of these two through.
I suspect that a half dozen Pubs, or close to it, will “abstain” on procedural grounds from the vote to bring the matter to the floor, but then that nearly everyone who has already voted to confirm for the position on the lower court will vote to confirm the actual person.
I’m sure that the RBG croaks scenario has been thought through dozens of times, and while reality is always somewhat different than anticipated, I’m optimistic that there is a winning strategy here, perhaps a couple, and it mostly is up to Trump and Turtle.
Hey, it’s Franklin.
The Charismatics are Liberal, not Conservative. Pass on Barrett.
How about both! #PACKSCOTUS
Catch the left flat footed with Britt Grant.
They will have to waste significant time branding her
Yeah the klan hates catholics too.
A hallmark of conversational narcissism is when someone hops on a thread and begins talking about themselves.
“Barrett oddly said she must recuse herself from decisions where a constitutional ruling would go against dictates from Rome”
That’s not good AT ALL, if true! I’ve seen a clip of her saying that her religion wouldn’t come in to play when making decisions. It seemed to be in a hearing setting. So I wonder which is true.
“I vote for the Florida, freedom-loving Cuban-American !”
Ditto!
“I think that Barretts answer is brilliant.”
Doesn’t “Rome” = Pope? Pope is a frickin’ commie.
Barnes briefly this spring did an absolutely brilliant weeknight hour on Alex’s outlet. In depth, well researched and presented, but at a high level, and didn’t pull any punches.
I don’t know him well enough to know really what his full story and angle is, but he said the tip he got was that Lagoa was Trump’s pick and that she was a brilliant one for Trump to haved settled on.
Same. Not saying ACB has red flags, exactly, but the adoptions, coupled with hyphenated last names could be little tiny pink ones. Maybe not. Who knows.
But to be recusing yourself on the USSC is to hand decisions to the left. And immigration is a likely area for that.
Francis is a full-blown commie globalist.
It is a mistake to think that the commies haven’t been a creation and cat’s paw of the wealthiest and oldest Establishment all along.
i’d have to do some more research but I hope Lagoa gets the nod.
You have a good point! As a woman, I am always hesitant to back a woman as they seem to go left and base decision on emotion rather than logic.
“Not saying ACB has red flags, ... but the adoptions, coupled with hyphenated last names could be little tiny pink ones.”
Right. The flags could be fuchsia. It all sounds too airy-fairy and PC to me. Right off the bat that gives me the heebie-jeebies.
