Biden would push for less US reliance on nukes for defense

Democrat Joe Biden leaves little doubt that if elected he would try to scale back President Donald Trump’s buildup in nuclear weapons spending. And although the former vice president has not fully detailed his nuclear priorities, he says he would make the U.S. less reliant on the world’s deadliest weapons.

The two candidates’ views on nuclear weapons policy and strategy carry unusual significance in this election because the United States is at a turning point in deciding the future of its weapons arsenal and because of growing debate about the threat posed by Chinese and Russian nuclear advances. […]

Biden embraces the notion that nuclear weapons should play a smaller role in defense strategy and that the ultimate goal should be a nuclear-free world. He has not spelled out how he would pursue this, but he has dropped clues.

He has said, for example, that he opposes the Trump administration’s decision to develop and deploy two types of missiles armed with less-powerful “low-yield” nuclear warheads. One is a sea-launched cruise missile that is some years from being fielded; the other is a long-range ballistic missile that the Navy began deploying aboard submarines nearly a year ago.

“Bad idea,” Biden said in July 2019. Having these makes the U.S. “more inclined to use them,” he added.

During the campaign, Biden also has embraced what nuclear strategists call a “no first use” policy. …

Joe Biden’s foreign and military policy will be the same as the Obozo’s, “Strength through Weakness“ and “lead from behind.”

Obama’s first act in Office was to derail our Nuclear Arsenal Research and Development Programs.

In Biden’s case, the Trojan Horse doesn’t fall far from the Traitor.

This supposed “intelligent Persian upper level”, if they exist, is not in control there. If they were, then there would be no Mullahs, no IRGC and no Quds Force.

Guess if we were to do it Joe’s way, we could also convert to rubber bullets or no guns at all, quit building vehicles with airbags & seatbelts, build airliners with seats on the outside for more capacity, eliminate police & fire departments & the military, etc.

Obama took US use of nukes off the table even in response to a nuclear attack.

He also sought to take our arsenal down to zero, tried to stop all new weapons development, and permitted the Russians to tour our missile sites.

The Left in America doesn’t even want the US to have nuclear energy.

While the excuse in Iran was they needed (to be a) nuclear power. Scratch a Leftist and you will find an antisemite.

Question: “Why does Iran need to generate nuclear power and why is NO NUKES silent?

Leftist: “Because Israel has nuclear weapons”.

If Biden wins, Dandia National Labs will be too busy catching up with their mandatory “Hate the Honkies” classes to actially design any nuclear bombs.

Nuclear weapons serve as a deterrent to massive conventional war like WWII. And they are cost effective at doing so.

Eisenhower, having been Supreme Allied Commander Europe in WWII, understood the cost of massive conventional war better than just about anybody.

As President he committed us to being a nuclear power both for deterrence and because fielding a conventional military is enormously expensive. We have mostly followed that Eisenhower policy ever since.

A policy like Biden proposes would be a repeat of the Jimmy Carter years which resulted in the Soviets and Iran acting ugly and seeking to be hegemons. It leads to war. This time it would be Iran and China.
