Just watched THE SOCIAL DILEMMA and now realize why many of the good people that I know have such diametrically opposing perspectives and such anger disrespect and hate for other opinions. The SOCIAL DILEMMA manipulations occur in social media platforms but also are present on every other large scale website like CBSNBCCNNPBSFOXABC NETFLIX AMAZON. Our opinions are being manipulated and massaged into hate and intolerance of each other. For what end? What is to be gained for the elite by formenting this level of hatred and rage except to devestate the country and gain unprecedented power and control? The only solution is to disbelieve all "news and information " and talk to ones neighbors and friends with open minds. Remember they do not have any sort of ready access to your information and you are kept away from theirs. And both of you are fed highly manipulated information to elicit charged emotional responses. Citizen driven websites and news gathering is a way around the monolith. Remember nothing is real here on the web. What is real are your neighbors friends and communities. Please share.

I think that would be a good goal, but in order for that to work, people will have to be convinced to pay to use FB instead of letting the advertising model to finance it. If people knew what the algorithms “think” about them, they might be inclined to pay to not have them.
OTOH cell phone and cable companies already have revenue streams from their users, so we could tell them to cut it out right now.
History, logic, and common sense always have and always will confirm that humans have thoughts, feelings, beliefs, convictions, ideologies, behaviors etc., etc. which are fundamentally contradictory and, ipso facto, mutually exclusive.

You may want to give some serious thought to the possibility, even the probability, that some of the “good people” you know might actually be bad people masquerading as good people. In any event, it’s morally obligatory for rational people to determine which of diametrically opposed perspectives is more objectively valid.
Political parties are a facade of advertising meant to entice the crowd. The purpose of the presentation is to collect resources of boots, wallets, and voices to support power. This visible manifestation of “ Party” is not the heart of the beast—but the fingertips of the puppet operator staging a performance. The concept of a “power behind the throne” is most apt.
I have given that serious thought, before I wrote it.
I may have policy disagreements with some people but they are fundamentally ethical people.
Disbeliveing the news is to hear it, and not accept it as necessarily true, one then must research and talk to others.

No. Political parties are corporations that use politics to get money. Like any other special interest group, they have no core beliefs, they just want that cash. There is no power behind the throne because there is no throne.
If you or loved ones are active on social media, the video documentary is a must watch. Social media, search engines and propaganda news are far more insidious into manipulating us, our habits, dopamine reward cycles, buying habits, contacts...list goes on.
If you’re addicted to scrolling through social media, your brain is plugged into the matrix, altering reality without you even being aware of it

Now imagine when larger story computers with even more powerful AI come on the scene! Preprogrammed human bots mindlessly following orders will be even easier to create. Elections, protests, riots, social chaos can be orchestrated through such AI.
I’m slowly beginning to believe that the “beast” mentioned in revelation 13 is not a man at all, but a supercomputer, brought to AI life. Evil incarnate. Replication of a human appearing to be alive interacting with the planet and just as Tay turned evil in less than a few hours before they unplugged it, so too would such an AI pseudo-human be...Evil incarnate.
The false prophet creates an “image of the beast and gives it life, forcing the world to worship the image and all who do not worship it are killed”. Technologically completely possible in a very few years.
Be aware, eyes wide open.

Y'see ... Sheep Whisperer VERY carefully explained HIS/HER reasoning (and I agree with that reasoning), so my "you're wrong" was an affirmation to SW's comment and hoped you might consider listening.

Which is the EXACT projection the documentary is pointing out because of social media.
