We call it “soda” here in Eastern PA - my relatives out near Pittsburgh, though, always called it “pop.”

I’m from western NY. I’ve always called it “pop”.
Thanks to the incredible sacrifices of our soldiers in Afghanistan...just police left...down to 2000 soldiers in Iraq. I decided to keep the oil. We kept it.
I am from Pittsburgh and we called ot pop while my relatives in Philadelphia called it soda.

I think ‘pop’ is more common toward the MidWest. I grew up in North-central Maryland, and it’s always been ‘Soda’.
(In the deep South, it seems to be generically ‘coke’.)
