This is not a Beta test. We have another Gulf of Mexico storm this busy 2020 Atlantic Hurricane season. We ran out of Alphabet names, and moved on to the Greek alphabet. Beta did not wait for the news cycle to end following the passing of Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

"Rain and clouds from Beta are streaming into SE already. Its cloudy here north of ATL from that system." It started a light drizzle here (Mobile) last night and is continuing today.

The best source of up to date info about the tropics is storm2k.com and click on active tropics. Been there since about yr. 2000.

Are you sure? I just looked up that website and got
“This site is focused on information useful to people who work in, or are interested in the field of Surgical Technology.” I copied it over from your post. Thanks for any insight.

Looks like it'll be a ten day wait to see what this one brings us. The remnants of Sally are off in the Carolinas and dissipated now. We've got a frontal boundary parked over us - a real cool front - and it's bringing us temps in the upper 60's and drizzle:

Seems Sally was wetter down here than i thought before.my buddy three blocks over got 14” in a few days has water everywhere,we had lake rodguy but its gone.
If Trump didn’t have so much on his plate right now ID complain big time about no data buoys working for months some years but he has bigger fish to fry for now.
The incompetents at NOAA will have to wait.oNce we hit the first of Oct. odds drop every week til NOV. when its all but over.

Sally was an incredible rain producer. That long tail of precipitation kept much of the FL peninsula soggy for five days. Glad your property has drained. Looking forward to dry season soon.

Tropical Storm Beta Discussion Number 11
NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL AL222020
400 AM CDT Sun Sep 20 2020
snip...
Beta was caught in weak steering currents for nearly a day, but
it now seems to be moving. The current initial motion estimate is
west-northwestward at 3 kt. A mid-level ridge currently centered
over the southwestern U.S. is forecast to slide eastward, which
should cause Beta to move a little faster to the west-northwestward
later today. This motion should continue for a couple of days,
taking the storm to the Texas coast on Monday or Monday night.
After Beta moves inland, the ridge is forecast to move away as a
shortwave trough approaches from the west. This change in the
pattern is expected to cause Beta to slow down, or even stall, on
Tuesday and then turn northeastward after that. The NHC track
forecast lies near the middle of the guidance envelope, and it is
fairly similar to the previous prediction.
