More than two dozen parents have sued Ohio’s interim health director over the state’s mask mandate for children in schools.
A complaint, filed last week in Putnam County Common Pleas Court, argues a state-imposed mask requirement infringes on parents’ religious beliefs and ability to rear their children as they wish. Attorneys for the parents, which include a Cincinnati-area mom, also say mask mandates have become a political issue, and forcing children to wear masks is forcing them to make a political statement.
“Plaintiffs dissent from this view, yet are being compelled to participate, and have their children participate in the state’s symbolic endorsement of panic over process,” the complaint reads.

Strang decided to join the lawsuit because he thinks his son, a first-grader, and other children will be harmed by wearing masks all day. Strang said young children won’t be able to keep masks clean and he’s concerned about emotional and psychological effects of wearing masks all day. For example, phonics are typically taught by modeling the teacher making sounds.
Attorneys also argue a mask mandate violates students’ privacy — the order “erodes or destroys” their personality, identity and public projection of self and conceals their identities to others.
We need these mask lawsuits in every state.

And my daughter is using FB to make waves over Cuomo’s announcement that “Halloween is canceled”...
She’s gonna have a lot of parents in her town doing some “peaceful protests marches” with their kids on Halloween with lots of “protests supply stations” stocked with candy and other goodies - because the government has already taken too much from our kids ...
I’m proud of her.
Cuomo has said he won’t cancel Halloween.
The gutless wonder is trying to have it both ways. Guess he saw what happened in LA county.
Yep - more and more people are getting fed up and the politicians are sensing the cracks radiating their way...

Very good. Maybe this will embolden other parents to take this to their own kids’ schools.
I suggested a couple days ago that this year Halloween should be day of National Mask Burning. It’ll be the signal that Americans are officially done with the mask tyranny.
Great idea! That girl has initiative! She will go places! You should be proud.
Our condo is “insulated” from trick-or-treaters - but we have friends who live in neighborhoods where we can hand out candy and look at the kids having a good time.
Sounds good to me - or maybe start wearing a Halloween mask with a “Covid (Sign of the oppression to come) mask” stuck to the front of it.
