Lebanon County authorities arrested a man who they said went on an overnight crime spree of vandalism and theft when he stole yard signs supporting police and Donald Trump, and spray-painted personal property.
District Attorney Pier Hess Graf said 13 home or business owners called police Monday to report vandalism or missing items including American flags, political or we support our police signs, Graf said.
Graf said Richland resident Jon G. Shanfelder, 24, spray-painted racist on the side of a truck, and ACAB all cops are bastards on someones home. The inside and outside of two pieces of farm machinery worth more than $6,000 were also vandalized, Graf said.
Weve reached a sad time in our world when every police officer is labeled a bastard simply because he or she wears a uniform, Graf said. Vile crimes like those committed by this defendant are the reason good, law-abiding citizens of our community fear showing their showing their support of police."
Shanfelder also damaged Trump banners with a box cutter and put Black Lives Matter stickers on peoples homes and cars, according to Graf.
The vandalism and thefts were reported to Pennsylvania State Police, North Lebanon Township and South Lebanon Township police.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, the crimes were largely committed around Richland, Myerstown and Jackson Township.
Graf said Shanfelder admitted to his actions after state police arrested him at his Richland home.
Shanfelder is charged with felony criminal mischief, 10 counts of theft, criminal trespass, as well as three counts of loitering and prowling at nighttime.
The 24-year-old was arraigned and bail was set at $60,000.
I want to be clear, my office and the law enforcement of Lebanon County will not tolerate violent, destructive behavior. Criminals like the defendant will be arrested and prosecuted, Graf said. The chaos weve seen across the country will not become the norm in Lebanon.

Jon Shanfelder, 24, of Richland, is accused of stealing Donald Trump yard signs and spray-painting phrases like "all cops are bastards" on personal property.
Bail set at $60,000.00

Pennsylvania Ping!
Please ping me with articles of interest.
FReepmail me to be added to the list.
Pennsylvanians will just shoot you.
Especially the hillbilly Appalachians southwestern part.
/dad’s roots :D
I keep waiting for a good citizen to come out with their crossbow and stick these graffiti vandals to the wall with an Arrow, paint can in hand.
$60,000
Nice.
What goes through the mind of this creep.
Shouldn’t be trying to get laid full time (and finish college) like I was at his age?
He looks a lot like that ANTIFA kid who laid down and started crying when he was being arrested...
I think he might have finished:
Penn State website
Jon Shanfelder - 3/12/2018
Degree: Psychology
Graduation Year: 2018
“The Psychology program at Penn State is an exceptional one. The best part about this program is the array of different psychology classes you can take, including classes about clinical, counseling, abnormal, social, developmental, perceptual, and organizational psychology (plus many more). I would highly recommend Penn State if you wish to major in Psychology.”
Found some evidence he was going for a double major in criminal justice and psychology.
“Especially the hillbilly Appalachians southwestern part.”
I love that part.
there. fixed it.
I posted this on Facebook.
I wonder if any of my fellow Lebanon County residents will recognize him.
I dont but Richland is in the far eastern part of the County and I’m up north.
I wonder how his new record of violent mental problems and criminal behavior will affect his career.
Hates cops, so does things that send cops to his house.
They are lucky he didn’t ambush them.
That’s where I am and, yes, we are prepared for any eventuality.
EMPLOYERS BEWARE! Young Jon Shanfelder of Richland may steal your office equipment and vandalize your place of business! Save his photo for future references, he may try an alias, dont fall for that either. You have been warned!!!
The menfolk in my family are putting Blue Lives Matter American flag stickers on their cars; just hoping I guess.
Pennsylvania used to issue yearly registration stickers which had to be attached to the plate with each renewal.
They dropped that about three years ago as a cost cutting measure (didn’t change the registration fees!).
So I have the blue line flag in the spot where the stickers used to be.
Supportive but subtle...not painting a target.
Wanna stop this crap? These people need to be branded.
