In Trump they trust: Economy keeps president competitive in swing states

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Sarah Moore thought Donald Trump was a joke four years ago. Now she is terrified he won’t win another term in the White House.

A big reason for her conversion is the future of the U.S. economy.

“Now I am full-fledged. I even have a Trump mask in my bag,” the mom of three school-age children said recently in downtown Bethlehem, which sits at the heart of a county that swung hard from Democrat to Republican in 2016 and helped seal Mr. Trump’s upset victories over Hillary Clinton in Pennsylvania and thus nationwide.

Mr. Trump likely needs a repeat performance in November to recapture the Keystone State and stay in the White House.

“I never would have seen this coming,” said Mrs. Moore, an independent voter. “I thought he was the biggest joke on the face of the Earth but I was so happy that he beat all of them. Now, if he doesn’t win, I’m going to feel like there is no hope left in this country.”

Mrs. Moore joins the majority of voters in Pennsylvania and other battleground states who trust the billionaire businessman more than Democratic challenger Joseph R. Biden to restore the economy, despite questioning Mr. Trump’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic and race relations.

The economy, which remains the top issue for most voters in the country, keeps Mr. Trump competitive in swing states such as Pennsylvania, where the Real Clear Politics average of recent polls has him trailing Mr. Biden by 4.3% percentage points.

A recent NBC News/Marist poll of likely voters in Pennsylvania gave Mr. Biden one of his largest leads at 9 points, but it also underscored Mr. Trump’s dominance on the economy question.

The way I see it, Trump may be the last true American president.

The rat party is putting in wave after wave of fake phony anchor baby Americans (Obama and Harris are just the tip of the globalist iceberg).

The USA is not a country anymore, it is an empire filled with 70 million foreign born invaders.

At some point, a rat will become president again and then the entire USA will become what the festering stink hole NYC, Chicago and LA have become.

We will be ruled by tribal overlords beholden to China and other parts unknown until the entire apparatus collapses.

At this point, the gnashing of teeth begins and the four horseman of the apocalypse make their appearance.

Lots of us are terrified that the Democrats will cheat Senile Joe into the White House.

Competitive? Is that the Washington Times’ way of being nice to someone getting his ass handed to him by Biden? /sarcasm off

The one prospect that has me a nervous wreck is that this election will ultimately be decided by Chief Justice John Roberts, who only seems to care about his popularity within the Swampy D.C. Beltway!!

Which is planting the seeds of a second civil war in the process.

I heard on the radio this afternoon that the Trump campaign is pulling ads and money from a few states, but there was no mention of which states, or why the withdrawal. If the states were California, New York, Massachusetts and Washington, I’d say the move was a no-brainer.

Has anyone heard anything about this?

Or the other way around, with Trump handing Biden his rear end.

Kind of like Yugoslavia. We used to have American ideals to unite us. But the Left has successfully destroyed our culture.

It’s only the media pumping them up that makes Antifa and BLM seem more than a skateboard-wielding aggregation of burned-out teens and twenty-somethings, crazy old hippies, and black “activists” trying to gain a little cred and become the next Sharpton.

Any “civil war” would last about 20 minutes as most of the “other side” get freaked out by actual weaponry and head for the comfort of their basements and their new copy of Doom Eternal.

Trump has never had ads in those states. They were conceded to Biden a long time ago.

“Trump has never had ads in those states. They were conceded to Biden a long time ago.”

The link mentions Wisconsin and Pennsylvania! I find it hard to believe that Trump has conceded those states, or that he has never had ads there.
