The Atlantic has published an op-ed that argues that “law-and-order” Republicans should vote for Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden because Democrats will riot if he loses, refusing to accept the results if President Donald Trump wins re-election.
In an essay titled, “The Democrats May Not Be Able to Concede,” Shadi Hamid writes:
A loss by Joe Biden under these circumstances is the worst case not because Trump will destroy America (he can’t), but because it is the outcome most likely to undermine faith in democracy, resulting in more of the social unrest and street battles that cities including Portland, Oregon, and Seattle have seen in recent months. For this reason, strictly law-and-order Republicans who have responded in dismay to scenes of rioting and looting have an interest in Biden winning—even if they could never bring themselves to vote for him.

if someone wins an election, by definition, the winner of our elections take office, or stay in office if re-elected.
How can the winner of an election somehow undermine faith in democracy?
So if Biden wins, somehow that would be a celebration of democracy. But if the “evil” Trump wins, then that is considered to be undermining the system by which he was elected.
I do not understand this logic.

There is a a lot of room in empty sports stadiums because of the leagues’ un-American, racist activity. Each would hold a relatively large number of handcuffed, disarmed rioters awaiting Federal trials.
I am totally disgusted with the rioting.

Most of their martyrs are thugs and criminals and self-selected for their deaths.
I don’t know how it could be arranged in a lawful fashion, but I would like to see the rioters dead in large, cost effective quantities.

No we need to win big and then implement with strong measures law and order and the rule of law. Our constitution should be upheld and any prosecutor who refuses to charge and prosecute appropriate crimes should be fired on the spot and replaced.
No prosecutor should be pushing any kind of politics; they should be following the constitution and not trying to influence a political outcome by what and who they chose to charge or walk away from.
Unless and until we impose the rule of law and the legal consequences to criminals equally across the board we will continue to have an increase in the rioting that is tearing our nation apart at the seams.
Isn’t Biden a virtual lock to win?
Just give JoeJoe a Participation Trophy and some fur to pet, grope and sniff. He’ll be happy in the home having applesauce & hot chocolate with his audience telling stories about Corn Pop, etc., etc.
