For every New Yorker that doesnt fill it out, all that means is that other states receive our funding and our Congressional seats, said Menin, who is hitting the alarm bell over the Manhattans current no-show status. This is not a time to be invisible, this is a time to stand up and be counted.
At stake is potentially two seats in Congress and an estimated $7,000 per household in annual federal funding and support, according to a study released by the good government group Common Cause.
So, Manhattans failure to show up so far could cost New York City big time.
Just 43 percent of households in Midtown have filled out the Census so far running more than 19 percentage points behind 2010, potentially costing more than $49 million in federal funding alone, a Post analysis found.
The Upper East Side is also running 19 percentage points behind its 2010 pace with only 52 percent of households completing the 2020 Census so far. That gap is worth $27 million in federal aid, according to the papers number crunch.
The story repeats in equally posh precincts on the West Side.
Nearly two-out-of-three households who live in Lincoln Square have completed the 2020 Census at this point, which seems impressive until compared with 2010, when 76 percent had gotten it done.

It has declined steadily since, and is now at 29 electoral votes (27 representatives, 2 senators)
May be 26 electoral votes next year (24 representatives, 2 senators).
That's what happens when you institute high taxes and let one far left city set policy for the entire state for decades.
Oh, too bad! Maybe I'll get an ice cream today!
NYS has been losing House seats for decades, almost half the ones it once had over the last 60 or so years.
Now Albany is having kittens?!
Sucks to be us, but awesome news for the republic!
Shocking, isn’t it?
What flavor?
And it ain’t just NYC elites. Non-compliance is up all over the state.
Also, I’m wondering if illegals are reluctant to be counted, and that’s causing more problems than Albany wants to admit to, so blame the elite.
Although I’ve not actually seen it, I’m told AOC has a nice looking seat
Its estimated NY may also have 1-2 House seats due to illegal aliens being counted as well; seats that would normally go to other deserved districts.
They moved out.
If California was starved of federal money it could only be a positive...
I’m wondering how much that is the fault of the agency though. I completed my census online back in May. A week ago, I had someone come to my door saying I hadn’t completed the census. I advised them I had and I didn’t have time to sit with them to fill out a paper form. I use a computer all day long so I know how to submit forms online.
Saturday, I got another census form in the mail.
Trouble is these NY mopes bring their socialist attitude and start fouling their new nest. Also how many have dual voting registration in NY and state they claim they reside in?
Quite possibly, they’re compliant. They just fled the state of New York and its super-high taxes, extreme cost of living, terrible weather, leftist politicians, culture of death, collapsed economy, and autocratic government. They responded to the census in their new residences. May they vote Republican as long as they shall live hereafter.
I’m thinking NYS has way more illegals than Albany wants to admit to, so blame non-compliant elites.
A dandy dumper...
Although Ive not actually seen it, Im told AOC has a nice looking seat.
I believe shes gone a size larger over the last 2 years.
Maybe in between cowering from Covid, then cowering from rioters, then moving to another State the census form didnt place high enough in their priorities.
It couldn’t happen to a more deserving human cesspool!
Maybe they aren’t completing the forms for NYC because they have decided to make one of their other homes, or simply another location, their primary residence.
Didn’t Trump suggest that maybe we could delay the census for a year, and the Dims and their media went crazy? Or is my memory imagining that?
