Many younger people I come in contact with in that age group are sort of a hybrid of libertarian/conservative.

Swear allegiance to the flag
Whatever flag they offer
Never hint at what you really feel
Teach the children quietly
For some day sons and daughters
Will rise up and fight while we stand still

First thing to do after that ‘revelation’ is find out how
how Gen Z defines the term ‘Conservative’?
They could mean something quite different than the Gen X’ers.

My youngest is a staunch patriot. He’s 23.
When he was in college he was a dual major in CS and EE. One of his CS subject professors was virulently anti-American and especially anti-Military and spent good portions of the class ranting against both. My son stood up in class and tore into him. He told my son to drop his class because no matter what he did he would never ever get a passing grade.
My son got up and walked out. He had to repeat the class the following year and it cost him in his GPA and in his wallet but, he told me he didn’t give a damn. He couldn’t let the bastard get away with his vitriol.

As a professor I can confirm this is beginning to happen.

Should have demanded an A (if that’s what he deserved) and sued if he didn’t get it. The professor was committing fraud if he took money for a class, then assigned grades on political basis.

Considering 40 year olds would be the slacker Gen-X, this is good news?

I went on a family camping trip in July and sitting around the campfire, I was pleasantly surprised to see all my younger relatives expressing conservative views. They were totally against the urban violence, the BLM movement and were speaking favorably of Trump.

We should not write off the younger generation just yet.

My guess is that hippies, liberals, zero population folks are not having kids so they’re less likely to pass on their values. 18 years old kids are still influenced by their families and they’ve not been indoctrinated by leftist professors at the university yet.

Slacker gen x was a very small group. Most of my peers are much harder workers than the either boomers or millennials. But we got the shaft from both, pushed out by the boomers so they could put their millennial kids in our previous jobs.

I predict that in a few years, we'll be seeing articles about how millennials are being passed over for (private sector) jobs in favor of the generations before (Gen X) and after (Gen Z) the millennials.

He was a Rush baby. Listened with me since he was very young. Spent his youth in the Young Marines from 8 years old through High School.

What does it mean to my son?

He’s a pro-gun, God fearing, pro-life constitutionalist who believes our rights are inalienable gifts from our Creator; that government exists to protect those rights and should stay the hell out of the privilege distribution business.

BRAVO to your brave patriot son!!

That's despicable what that professor said - and did - to your son though.

Why do they keep getting away with this crap? Seems like that would be grounds for some kind of lawsuit. I suppose the evidence of what the prof said would have to be caught on video/audio.

Should of dropped the class and taken a “W” as it would have preserved his GPA. Have done it myself on more than one occasion simply to preserve the GPA. Sure it cost a little extra but it was worth it.
