As violent and destructive antifa and Black Lives Matter riots continue to ravage American cities like Portland and Kenosha, a self-described communist who plotted to blow up the U.S. Capitol in the 1970s suggested that America’s second Civil War has already started.
“Am I the only one, or do you feel eerily that we’re living in Kansas, 1859, and that tensions are boiling over, but only years later will people say, ‘Yes, the Civil War began there and then?'” Ayers posted on Facebook. He posted the same statement on his website, BillAyers.org.
Ayers, who co-founded the Weather Underground in 1969, took part in the bombings of the New York City Police Department headquarters in 1970, the U.S. Capitol building in 1971, and the Pentagon in 1972. Since the FBI used illegal tactics against the Weather Underground and the New Left, the government dropped key charges against the Weather Underground and Bill Ayers.
After his radical career, he settled into academia, where he taught at the University of Illinois. When he retired in 2010, the university denied him emeritus status. The university’s board chair, Christopher G. Kennedy (son of assassinated Senator Robert F. Kennedy), condemned Ayers for dedicating a book “to the man who murdered my father.” Kennedy referred to a 1974 book Prairie Fire: The Politics of Revolutionary Anti-Imperialism, which Ayers wrote with other Weather Underground members and which the authors dedicated to manny revolutionaries, including the man who assassinated Robert F. Kennedy. Ayers denied dedicating a book to the assassin and suggested that right-wing bloggers started a rumor to that effect.
As for Ayers’ “eerie” feeling, he was referring to Bleeding Kansas, a lesser-known precursor to the American Civil War.

I almost said "finger them" but then it sounded too much like giving more attention to Joe Biden and females.
As a much younger person I saw him speak (antiwar rally) and booed and jeered him personally.
I have been a “there can’t be a real Civil War II” guy, because the only thing that made CW I possible was the split in the military.
Yes, you could have had hit and run terrorist attacks for a while, but no Shiloh, no Antietam, no Gettysburg without force-on-force.
But now, division of the armed forces is being openly planned by the leadership of one of the two main political parties, a party whose (terrible) candidate got 65 million votes four years ago.
There are scenarios whereby the chaos they are planning after November 3 could cause some sort of military intervention into what was formerly politics, and if THAT led to division of the chain of command, OR led to one service against another, then you could have real war in the homeland.
If, OTOH, Trump wins and is then overthrown by a united military, CW II would remain just a fantasy.
With snakes-in-the-grass like Mattis and his ilk there are no guarantees that the military is unbiased.
It would boil down to the individual soldier, sailor, airman and Marine as to which side to ‘join’.......................

To have two sides you need two sets of commanders. If the officer class obeys the Pentagon, with only a few isolated exceptions, there won’t be a war, just a massacre.
Generals coups often fail. Colonels coups often succeed.
The current state of things in Pentagon City is the result of long-term planning. Any officer who has faced a selection board in the past twenty years has been screened for crimethink.
It’s by no means certain what will happen when the four stars decide to go with Biden after he refuses to concede.

I say we let them win this one. Take their burned out, looted ghettoes and have their own country. Strip them of their citizenship, and, a few weeks later, when they’re out of food, running water, electricity, gas,let them come back as permanently nonvoting refugees, and the cities themselves can be federally administered territories that never become states.

One of dem bombs exploded a P G&E substation 150 feet from me. Sent shrapnel whizzing just over my head. Luckily was standing behind several rows of steel shelving in a quonset hut the time or I was mincemeat. The quonset hut looked like Swiss cheese.
