Republicans see Voter Registration Surge as Fall Campaign Begins (Pennsylvania)
Penn Capital-Star ^ | September 8, 2020 | Nick Field

Mail-in ballots in Pennsylvania go out on Sept. 14, and Republicans are seeing continued growth in voter registration, a Capital-Star analysis has found.

A month ago, the Democratic margin statewide was 783,116. It currently stands at 758,854. Altogether, that’s 4,121,353 Democrats, 3,362,499 Republicans....

Central: Blair:: R+708 Centre: R+291 Clearfield: R+592 Columbia: R+312 Huntingdon: R+189 Juniata: R+147 Mifflin: R+341 Montour: R+71 Northumberland:R+764 Snyder:R+273 Union:R+196

With COVID cases growing on campus at Penn State, Democrats may not get their usual bump from new and returning students in Centre County....

North Central Bradford: R+325 Cameron: R+37 Clinton: R+305 Elk: R+286 Lycoming: R+688 McKean: R+180 Potter: R+73 Sullivan: R+33 Tioga: R+287

Lycoming County is another example of the dynamic I just mentioned....

Northeast Carbon: R+324 Lackawanna: R+470 Luzerne: R+1,423 Monroe: R+64 Pike: R+210 Schuylkill: R+621 Susquehanna: R+227 Wayne: R+200 Wyoming: R+149

[I]t’s looking increasingly unlikely that Joe Biden can win back Luzerne County. The major question, though, is what...Lackawanna County will look like....

Northwest Clarion: R+264 Crawford: R+481 Erie: R+321 Forest: R+6 Jefferson: R+349 Mercer: R+366 Venango: R+331 Warren: R+225

Despite some encouraging stories out of Erie for the Dems, they aren’t seeing that reflected in the voter registration numbers....

South Central Adams: R+193 Bedford: R+477 Cumberland: R+497 Dauphin: D+7 Franklin: R+633 Fulton: R+147 Lancaster: R+677 Lebanon: R+408 Perry: R+228 York: R+1,517

This is a prime example of how well the summer went for the GOP....

Southeast Berks: R+1,061 Bucks: R+1,001 Chester: D+536 Delaware: D+1,178 Lehigh: R+344 Montgomery: D+1,870 Northampton: R+318 Philadelphia: D+1,157

...That Bucks County statistic, however, is arguably the most ominous one in this piece for the Democratic Party.....

Southwest Allegheny: R+698 Armstrong: R+475 Beaver: R+753 Butler: R+947 Cambria: R+847 Fayette: R+1,004 Greene: R+320 Indiana: R+448 Lawrence: R+419 Somerset: R+637 Washington: R+1,083 Westmoreland: R+1,749

The national media are constantly focused on "Texas going blue" and "Georgia going blue." Their point is that migration of liberals from other states to Texas and Georgia is making these states more Democrat. True. But the media has overlooked what migration of CONSERVATIVES to states like Pennsylvania has done to that state's electorate. In particular, Maryland Republicans/Conservatives who have fled Baltimore and the surrounding counties and moved north of the Mason-Dixon line into PA will have a substantial impact in the 2020 election. Marylanders have been fleeing high crime and high taxes for 20 plus years. Look at the York County numbers and numbers for other counties on the Maryland line. This is the untold story of the 2020 election, IMO. Discuss...

If someone could fix the layout of my post, it would be appreciated. There is a good county by county breakdown in this article. Thanks.

Since party registration is not a necessity to vote in 2020 for any candidate in any race, I always hold the thought of “sabotage” in my mind. Do NOT be complacent. Go to your polling place on election day and vote. And take someone with you.

Too bad there is no Republican running for Congress in Bucks County.

But is it beyond the “margin of fraud” if they are sending everyone in Philadelphia a half-dozen ballots?

My experience of the Baltimoron invaders is that they are mostly Gimmedats who, after a couple of years of living north of the Mason-Dixon start wanting all of the government services that they had before.

Thanks to the Baltimorons school district after school district started adding Lacrosse to its sports line up.

Just one example.

Maybe they should move to Baltimore over in Ireland instead. Might be a bit too rustic for them, though, and the last train to Cork city departed on April Fool’s Day in 1961.

I know that former Governor Bob Ehrlich’s parents relocated to York. Bottom line: The bulk of the Marylanders who have fled the high taxes and gun control and moved to PA are registering Republican. I’m not originally from Maryland. And I’ll never get over “use” “dem” “doze” and “dat.” Worst accent in America.

Wouldn't those students simply vote elsewhere?

If you leave the urban center, yard signage has Biden running a distance third, behind Trump and Corn For Sale.

Sweet!

And sweet corn is REALLY good this season!

$4.00/baker’s dozen at a local honor-box self-serve.

They may vote in other states like Maryland, NJ, and NY where many Penn State students are from. Also, as the students have been off campus, there haven’t been registration drives Large college campuses are where Democrats sign up voters and volunteers. The Democrats will definitely have a drop off in younger voters.

Damn right. If you don't believe me, look at the groups that have endorsed him.
