Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced Tuesday morning the Senate will vote on an additional Wuhan coronavirus relief package this week after months of stonewalling and refusal to negotiate by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. He's also calling out Pelosi and Minority Leader Chuck Schumer on the real reason they're blocking relief for American families in a presidential election year.
Senate Republicans have been trying for months to deliver more bipartisan relief to the American people. In July, we proposed another sweeping package totaling more than $1 trillion. Speaker Pelosi and Leader Schumer said no. In August, we proposed narrowing discussions to the most urgent and bipartisan subjects. They blocked that too," McConnell said. "Speaker Pelosi and Leader Schumer said a targeted deal on jobless benefits and the Paycheck Protection Program would be piecemeal, but then Speaker Pelosi came rushing back to pass the most piecemeal bill imaginable: Postal Service legislation that completely ignored the health, economic, and education crises facing families."
Everything Speaker Pelosi and Leader Schumer have done suggests one simple motivation: They do not want American families to see any more bipartisan aid before the polls close on President Trumps re-election.

Our party is terrible at messaging with the media. I love this idea. But Turtle just walks and says a few things and walks off.
OMG!!!! Mitch is alive!!
Who woulda thought????
Its a high stakes game and Pelosi is all in.
The dims have already threatened to burn out your business and assault you on the street if Biden loses, now they threaten to ruin you financially too. McConnell is just Calling her bluff, right before the election.
House Dems will be facing election too, you know. They will have to defend Pelosis strongarm tactics that took the bread out of their constituents mouths.
We could win the WH, Senate, and the House over this...
How? There are literally no vacancies remaining on the Circuit Courts. Multiple records for the pace of judges being confirmed have been broken.
He may be frustrating, but he's no Trent Lott....
So every slot Trump can appoint for are all filled?

Pretty much, yes. Zero Circuit Court vacancies exist.
Look at the states of the vacancies that remain for the District Court you have linked. Most of those listed can be blocked if a state has a single Dem Senator and most of them for the listed vacancies do, and 30 of the vacancies the President hasn’t yet sent over a nominee to be considered.
So in other words you agree that there are still openings,
and some are hanging in the United States Senate.
Mitch has let some of them hang for over a year before
getting them cleared, and many of them for over six months.
Some of these appointments have have all their background
checks and committee approvals for some time. He doesn’t
call them to a vote. I don’t get it.
I’m not just talking about current appointees here though.
That’s how it has been going.
You are not responding to the comments I am making. Posting a list of open District court seats does not negate that every Circuit Court post has now been filled and there are zero vacancies. Posting a list of open seats where a single Dem can block the nominee also doesn’t negate my point.

We have one opening.
It’s when we have a Conservative president and a Republican
leader in the Senate.
Mitch has continually dragged his feet on getting nominations
cleared.
If you don’t want to acknowledge that, that’s fine by me.
If by hook or by crook the Left wins this election, the
people Mitch didn’t make a move on will forever be lost
and the other side will make the nominations.
That’s reality.
Other than Judges Mitch hasn’t done squat in the four
years Trump has been president. Ryan was of the same mind.
It’s chilling to think how much opportunity was squandered
in Congress during the last four year.
Mitch is still at it, slow walking things.
Here:
Do you think it would be better if Trump’s appointments were
approved or not?
There are currently 48 nominees hanging.
(I don’t have the exact stats on them, so some may be
relatively new. Others likely aren’t.)
