Bible in a Year:
This happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead.
Are people still praying for me?
That was one of the first questions a missionary asked his wife whenever she was allowed to visit him in prison. He had been falsely accused and incarcerated for his faith for two years. His life was frequently in danger because of the conditions and hostility in the prison, and believers around the world were earnestly praying for him. He wanted to be assured they wouldnt stop, because he believed God was using their prayers in a powerful way.
Our prayers for othersespecially those who are persecuted for their faithare a vital gift. Paul made this clear when he wrote the believers in Corinth about hardships he faced during his missionary journey. He was under great pressure, so much that he despaired of life itself (2 Corinthians 1:8). But then he told them God had delivered him and described the tool Hed used to do it: We have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers (vv. 1011, emphasis added).
God moves through our prayers to accomplish great good in the lives of His people. One of the best ways to love others is to pray for them, because through our prayers we open the door to the help only God can provide. When we pray for others, we love them in His strength. Theres none greater or more loving than He.
How do you love others with your prayers? In what ways can you encourage prayer for those who are persecuted for their faith?
Loving and Almighty God, thank You for the amazing gift of prayer and the ways You move through it. Please help me to pray faithfully for others today!

I love driving past Dover on Delaware Route 9. Always think of the thousands of fallen heroes who have passed through there.
I love the USO in the passenger terminal there! I usually fly to Europe from Dover.
Good evening to you rfreedom4u, thank you for joining us this evening!
Greetings to all at the Canteen!
To all our military men and women, past and present,
HI MA!

Dad was stationed at Dover in the early 70s as it was going to be the main C-141 base on the East Coast and Charleston SC was going to be the East Coast C-5 base. For some reason they swapped aircraft and Dover got the C-5. One offshoot was that Charleston AFB has a hanger built for the C-5 that never had a C-5 in it.
Think the swap was done to keep McGuire AFB, NJ open as a C-141 base. Couldn’t have two C-141 bases only 15 minutes away by air from each other.
Hi everybody!
(((HUGS)))
88 degrees today and snow tonight. It was smoky and they changed the voluntary evacuation to about 5 miles away then the wind changed and blew the smoke away. 59 degrees now and they are saying 26 tonight. If they do not stop doing that I may become paranoid.
Thank you for posting this! I came here in 1984 and never left.
DAFB’s nickname? The elephant graveyard.
While there have been a few changes and some upgrades like lengthening the runway and a new tower and much larger terminals and storage, the base remains relatively unchanged.
Thanks, unique, for the road trippers!
