Businesses Must Choose the Right Political Climate to Thrive

I recently returned home from a trip to Washington, D.C. and felt as though I just visited a third world country. There were so many businesses boarded up and abandoned—from big corporate-owned businesses, to small mom-and-pop stores. Many of the main streets were blocked off in an effort to maintain law and order.

I witnessed a mob attempt to storm a hotel, banging on, and shaking, the hotel’s reinforced doors. As I watched the chaos unfold from my room, I started to wonder if I would wake up to a mob in the middle of the night trying to beat down my door. The environment was so fraught with tension, hate and violence that we were unable to go out for dinner in the heart of nation’s capital. After seeking out a place to eat for an hour, we returned to our hotel and ordered delivery. Even the delivery driver was unable to get to us due to the road closures.

There are legitimate grievances that call for protest, and I do not want to take away from folks who are genuinely looking to create positive change to help all Americans. I also recognize that many folks are in much more dire situations than me and my family, but I wanted to share this story as a warning of what America will look like, should the radical-left continue to gain influence in Washington, and throughout the nation. My experience in Washington, D.C. will be the experience across America as our way of life comes under a full assault from radical-leftist-Democrat mayors and governors that refuse to control the streets of their cities.

It’s something Joe Biden also refuses to forcefully call out. President Trump, on the other hand, has come out forcefully against the violence and stand proudly with law enforcement.

The cost to these businesses is tremendous. Some owners will find themselves in legal entanglement with landlords and vendors because of their inability to pay due to the unrest. Others may end up in bankruptcy and even homeless because anarchist thugs and Antifa-inspired rioters targeted their business. Imagine having put your life savings into your business and then, overnight, misguided, violent thieves destroy everything you’ve built. That’s not the promise of America. Even more chilling is the fact that political leaders are allowing this unrest to continue.

And it's clear under a Biden Presidency, that the unrest will continue. President Trump is a understands that we cannot allow these instigators and extreme leftist leaders to gain control. He is what stands between those who love America, and a radical-leftist movement hell-bent on transforming America for the worst.

I personally became more appreciative of Georgia’s Governor Brian Kemp when he quickly called in the troops when the liberal Atlanta mayor allowed violent rioters to run wild for an entire night in Atlanta. I'm sure Atlanta would resemble D.C. if both the Governor and Mayor were radical leftist Democrats.

There's a clear pattern here. It's imperative for businesses to now look at local political leadership to determine if they are people who will look out for the business community and protect local economic interests, or if they’ll cave to the radical left.

It’s just as imperative to re-elect President Donald Trump this fall to protect the American Dream for all Americans.

One of our friends, a lady in her late 70s fell off a ladder had compound fractures in her leg which required surgery. When she woke up there were rioters that had been taken to the hospitals by the police who were running up and down the halls screaming and busting into people’s rooms including hers and yelling at them. She said that it was the most scared that she had ever been in her life. This was of course in... Seattle.

Businesses, landlords, etc. should be filing lawsuits in the cities that are being damaged. The elected officials pretty clearly aren't doing their jobs, nor are the police that are being told to stand down by the elected officials. Seems like major negligence at the least. It is either that, or abandon these cities altogether to let them fail.

I know that Americans love to wax poetic about the big cities like NYC, Chicago, and Los Angeles, but the reality is that the big city concept is archaic and should be abandoned. Especially after this "pandemic", the idea of having people packed like sardines into a small area is a really stupid idea.

Perhaps candidates should be asked that question

abandon these cities altogether to let them fail.

That cannot be allowed to happen to any of our cities, and especially not Washington. The District of Columbia had from its founding until the civil rights and “Home Rule” push in the early 70s been administered by the Federal government, and should be still today. What this author describes is a repeat of the riots of 1968 that decimated a large part of nort-central DC (and that took two decades to recover)—to the 10th power, due to professional outside agitation and social media.

I also believe not only in term limits for -Congress, but also that former Presidents should not have a residence or office within 150 miles of DC for 12 years after serving.

These mega-cities aren't worth saving. If the GOP actually tried to be competitive in these cities, it might be a different story. But the GOP is a weak and ineffective party thanks to the RINOs, so these cities are destined to fail. And I'm fine with that.

Washington, DC is worth saving. Many of the other cities have priceless museums and points of geological or historic interest that should not be destroyed, such as Philadelphia and New York. Giving in to the mob is not a viable option. It’s not even an appropriate compromise. There can be no compromise with anarchy, fascism or tyranny.

This is not about giving into the mob, who are controlled by the same Democrats that run these cities. The Democrats' goal for many years has been to herd people into the bigger cities, which is a really dumb idea. What do you think Agenda 21 is all about? Do you want to live in these cities, which will only get worse? I sure don't. And beyond that, why would we want to contribute any taxpayer dollars to these cesspools? These cities are like the zombies in The Walking Dead - they're dead, they just don't know it yet. NYC, Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Detroit (and others) - all of them are disgraceful, poorly-run formerly American cities. Washington? Maybe that's a special case, but it still has the same problems as the other cities mentioned above.

In the end, this is about bad governance, but bad governance that seemingly can't be replaced because one party dominates, and the other party is too wimpy and docile to make a difference (I personally believe that the GOP is a fake political party, but that's just me). It's time to start thinking outside the box, and outside of these zombie cities. I have no interest in rewarding bad behavior.

It has been 2 years since I left Prince George’s county. In that amount of time Muriel Bowser had made Marion Barry’s years as mayor of DC look like a “Golden Age.”

OK; so just give up. Trump’s massive efforts, remaking of the courts, policy shifts and the anticipated red-pilling of millions from this naked leftwing destruction will never bear fruit, so nyah nyah nyah waa waa.

No. We must not surrender. Buck up.

I’m starting to think giving women the vote might not have been such a great idea, and I’m a woman! ;-)
