A LITTLE boy watched as his mum murdered five of his siblings before jumping in front of a train, it has been reported.
The bodies of the kids - aged 1, 2, 3, 6 and 8 - were found in a flat in Solingen, western Germany today.
According to broadcaster RTL, the children's older brother, 11, watched the mother, 27, allegedly carry out the horrific murders.
The mum - named as Christine K in German media - then took the boy on a train journey before she got off at Dusseldorf and threw herself on the tracks.
Named only as Marcel in local media, the 11-year-old was left on the train and continued to Mönchengladbach where his grandmother lived.
He was not harmed and is currently in the care of relatives, police said.
His mother survived the apparent suicide attempt after being rescued by firefighters from between two train track beds at Dusseldorf Central Station - 20 miles from her home.
The deaths of the five children - three girls and two boys - has stunned the local community in Solingen.
Pictures show several police vehicles and ambulances parked outside the block where cops said they found the five "lifeless" bodies.
Officers frantically tried to resuscitate the children when they discovered the horrific scene, reports RTL.
Cops refused to comment on rumours the kids were given tablets by the mother and it is still not clear how the children died, Bild reports.
She remains in a serious condition and is thought to be under police protection.

This being Europe, I expect she may get as much as 6 months of intensive counseling.
Paranoid schizophrenic mother. They can be great mothers until their children get to the age of reason. Then they will either pick on one child to hate (normally the eldest same sex child) or hate them all and pick on one child that they think is on their side. The 11 yr old was lucky that he was the favored one.
There is no explaining such horror. People will try to rationalize it. The mother is clearly loose in the caboose, pardon the pun.
Just shaking my head.....some things so horrible are beyond understanding regardless of the possibilities she will surely give if she makes it.
My take, mom was on psychotic meds and they were not the right meds, death by psychotropic drugs.
I hope we get more facts on this. Everyone is assuming it was the mother and, for the kid’s sake, I hope it was but there is the possibility that Mum left the kids in the care of the eldest for a good or bad reason, kid flipped and killed his siblings and Mum blamed herself for leaving them in his care.

My take is that the mom was psychotic and unmedicated.
I knew somebody who survived a homicidal paranoid schizophrenic mother who wanted (and tried) to kill her, and if modern medication had existed in those days, her life and that of her mother would have been entirely different- and a lot happier.
Word is she poisoned them.
I would agree with you...some element of paranoid schizophrenia at play here. Stress of being home with kids constantly because of the Covid-19 business probably in the mix as well.
That poor kid is probably traumatized.
Germany is still being punished for Hitler’s crimes.
I highly doubt this womans actions had anything to do with Hitlers crimes.
Sadly, they will likely mark it down as 5 more covid deaths.
