H-E-B's CEO sides with Harris County clerk on sending mail-in ballots to all eligible voters Charles Butt penned a letter to the Supreme Court of Texas saying County Clerk Chris Hollins is trying to protect the most vulnerable from unnecessary exposure.
HARRIS COUNTY, Texas The CEO of H-E-B is jumping into the mail-in ballot controversy in Harris County.
Charles Butt is siding with Harris County Clerk Chris Hollins on sending mail-in ballots to all residents who are eligible to vote.
Butt said at the start of the pandemic, H-E-B and other retailers adjusted their services to make sure customers didn't have to interact face-to-face with other individuals and he feels the state should do the same in terms of voting.
In a letter sent to the members of the Supreme Court of Texas, Butt wrote, "We've worked hard to give customers opportunities to buy their food in the safest way. In light of this, I also support efforts to allow voting by mail, which is the safest means for people to exercise this vital right during this time."

This WAS my fave grocer, until I saw this.
Does he not know the difference between Mail in Ballots and Absentee Ballots?
He's trying to turn TX blue, I guess.
I hope he hears from a LOT of Texans.
Mr. Butts:
Sell groceries not votes.
Irate customer
Hear, hear!!
I get “How Did We Do?” surveys, from HEB, all of the time.
I’ll let them know, exactly, how Mr Butts did, with this mistake.
“Hollins’ plan to send mail-in ballot applications to all voters was temporarily blocked by the Texas Supreme Court Wednesday.
The decision came in response to a lawsuit filed days ago by the Texas attorney general.
Attorney General Ken Paxton has since launched his own legal challenge to the plan.
After being sued by Paxton, Hollins said he would only send applications to voters 65 and older, who are currently eligible to vote by mail under state law, pending the litigation.”
Retailers always want more illegals on food stamps and buying their goods.
I had a robocall from Donald Trump, Jr asking me to vote absentee.
I know an election worker in Mi who thinks it’s hopeless. The
cheating that is being put into place will be insurmountable.
The last straw for her was the teams that are being assigned to head out to the nursing homes to harvest ballots from people who don’t even know what year it is.
This is getting set to be a farce of an election
This election is where we live or die!
Great!
HEB is woke now.
The Leftists/Dems run the ultimate protection racket against any corporation which participates in Interstate Commerce, via the vast alphabet soup of agencies they control, thus forcing unconditional obedience ...
Up here in Minnesota, I got a flashy looking mailer from the Trump campaign encouraging me to fill out an absentee ballot.
I won’t.
I’ll be going to the polls on election day to vote for him.
Rush was talking about this just today.
When Harry E Buttz says HEB changed their procedures to make sure people didn’t have to interact face to face... he meant his employees... they actually closed one of their front doors and made customers come in and out the same door, but circle around inside the store... when I pointed it out to a manager they just shook their head. I asked them why create a choke point when you don’t have to?
We need to do the same - harvest the same nursing homes NOW.
worse case scenario is the person votes twice and gets their ballot nullified.
I am going to express my displeasure with the local manager.
You can vote early absentee. Every campaign wants votes in the bank as soon as possible.
Great. NOT!
What was Rush’s take? That SCOTUS would vote in favor if Hiden Biden???
