We wanted to know: Whats the worst thing that could happen to our country during the presidential election? President Trump has broken countless norms and ignored countless laws during his time in office, and while my colleagues and I at the Transition Integrity Project didnt want to lie awake at night contemplating the ways the American experiment could fail, we realized that identifying the most serious risks to our democracy might be the best way to avert a November disaster. So we built a series of war games, sought out some of the most accomplished Republicans, Democrats, civil servants, media experts, pollsters and strategists around, and asked them to imagine what theyd do in a range of election and transition scenarios.
A landslide for Joe Biden resulted in a relatively orderly transfer of power. Every other scenario we looked at involved street-level violence and political crisis.
On the morning of Election Day, false stories appear online claiming that Biden has been hospitalized with a life-threatening heart attack and the election has been delayed. Every mainstream news organization reports that the rumors are unfounded, but many Biden supporters, confused by the bogus claims, stay home.
Still, by late that night, most major networks have called the election for Biden: The former vice president has won key states and has a slender lead in the national popular vote, and polling experts predict that his lead will grow substantially as Western states count an unusually high number of mail-in ballots. The electoral college looks secure for Biden, too.
But Trump refuses to concede, alleging on Twitter that MILLIONS of illegal ALIENS and DEAD PEOPLE have voted in large numbers and that the uncounted ballots are all FAKE VOTES!!! Social media fills with posts from Trump supporters alleging that the election has

They know Biden is going to lose that’s why..just like what axios said, and they are NOT right wing, that Trump will win the election but due to mail in harvesting fraud, a week later Biden will be declared the winner
these children really do have an active imagination now
More projection from Democrats, who are telegraphing their plans by attributing them to Trump.
Who are they kidding? Cities will be on fire all week. It'll be entertaining to watch Election Night coverage pivot back and forth between incoming results and looting.
Or they’ll try to do that.
“... violence and a constitutional crisis...”
Unless you have been living under a rock... that is the DNC agenda.
LMAO!!! With a name like that you just KNOW that they despise white males.
There will be violence regardless of the results.
Name them in detail with corroborating factual evidence.
Wash Compost should be informed there is already BLM, Antifa, rioting,
looting and lots of violence.
It is important that people understand the rules.
If you understand the rules, deadlines, and who has to do what...they will be less prone to drama.
I see the ill informed and doom and gloom ERs already losing sleep.
The key? Make sure we win by an overwhelming amount.
If you read the comments below that article, they make insane people appear sane. OMG.
Just wondering. Has anyone ever seen or know of any case where Republicans have cheated during election counting? It is always Dems who cheat during every election. WE have to turn out in much greater numbers to have any chance of electing Republicans to any office.
Oh, he’s broken several norms, like not attending the correspondence dinner, but there’s nothing wrong with that.
“Biden supporters, confused by the bogus claims, stay home.”
That would be such a shame. Meanwhile, does Biden even have any supporters? Trump has enemies, sure, but that’s slightly different. If Biden does have supporters, they will certainly be easily confused.
I guess its “Countless” because Rosa the ObamaBot can’t count to One.
“Cities will be on fire all week.”
I guess I may be zotted for saying this, but it is up to us to make sure that doesn’t happen.
