Reporter: Fox News swamps Trump with 'misinformation' Yahoo News

A sizable portion of the “misinformation” released by the Trump White House originates from stories that first appear on Fox News, CNN media critic Brian Stelter told Yahoo News.

“The Fox-Trump feedback loop is unlike anything we’ve seen in media before,” Stelter said. “There’s never been anything like this. ... He gets swamped by misinformation.”

While critics have decried Fox News as taking orders from the White House, it’s actually the network that tells Trump what to say, according to Stelter.

“A lot of what [Trump] is saying is coming straight from ‘Fox & Friends’ and is coming straight from the Tucker Carlson show,” Stelter said. “I’ve had producers at the network confide in me, ‘We used to pick our stories based on knowing he’s watching.’”

Stelter’s book “Hoax: Donald Trump, Fox News, and the Dangerous Distortion of Truth” hit bookstores last week. Stelter said he decided to write the book after being flooded with phone calls from Fox News sources.

“A lot of people who confided in me said, ‘I was proud to work at a conservative-leaning channel — there needs to be a lot of room in the marketplace for this,’ and there should be,” Stelter said. “But as one anchor [at Fox] said, ‘We’re not right-leaning anymore. We have fallen over.’”

Stelter said his reporting suggests that if Roger Ailes were still running the network, Fox News would not be as beholden to the president as it has become.

“Ailes, if he had still been at the network and if he were still alive, he would have stood up to Trump — at least some of the time,” Stelter said. “He did lead the network with an iron first, everybody knew what he wanted, and when he left there was a leadership vacuum and Trump filled it.”

Looks like a Double Dipper to me.

Hard to believe he gave up a Career as a Marine Biologist to work at CNN.

I guess being fired from the New York Yankees Organization and Vandelay Industries really took a toll on him.

I think the Shrinkage episode was the bellwether event that led him to the delusional state he is in today.

I’ll be here all week...

Stetler is upset that Trump doesn’t listen to his fake news network.

Funny. I thought the headline said “Reporter”.

They use the term pretty loosely these days. Just look at all people with "press" credentials at the Portland riots.

Brian Stelter is hardly a source of any reliable news or information.

So Tater thinks Trump gets all of his info from Fox? Maybe it’s in his daily intelligence briefs and he waits for it to show up on Fox to say anything.

thats why I get my news and opinions from FR , so as to not leave a quote trail back to any news source ..
FR posters have the better quotes and one-liners for public consumption..☼

"A sizable portion of the “misinformation” released by the Trump White House originates from stories that first appear on Fox News..."

Yeah, because you won't report them. You consider it "misinformation" because it's stuff you don't want the public to know.

AOL commies are the worst. They make the Hill and the New York Times look like Conservative Treehouse.

Claims FNC is feeding Trump fake news, then fails to provide a SINGLE example. Of course, he can’t. He’s just parroting the MSM talking point that anything Trump says is a lie. Not only is Stelter a liar, but he’s a lazy liar.

AOL is the worst. Misinformed or flat out lying. Journalism not fit for a HS news paper.
