The bill also would establish a fund for people impacted by drugs, impose a 5% tax on legal marijuana sales, and establish a process to expunge certain convictions and review sentences related to past federal marijuana offenses...Clyburn, D-S.C., told members that the vote is expected to take place in the September work period...According to an American Civil Liberties Union report earlier this year, Black Americans are 3.64 time more likely than White Americans to be arrested for marijuana possession...

I don't think that is remotely true. Besides, equating ending a life to firing up a doobie.... Man, I dunno... I figure there is a reason God only gave us 10 Commandments. Maybe on things like pot I guess God figured out that minding our own business is something we could figure out on our own rather than running around trying to find reasons to lock our fellow man up.
God next talked about tax evasion either. I guess Jesus did though. Certainly not in the 10 commandments.
“Drug crimes involve the entire family, probably moreso than most rapes.”
BS - unless a parent smokes himself into inability to care for minor children, there is no violation of rights, which is the only proper concern of government.
The recreational use of marijuana has been decriminalized or legalized in Alaska, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, much of Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, and Washington.
I know of people that bitched they had to take care of the kids and couldn’t go to a pot party. I’ve seen the resentment first hand.
With a few exceptions, you just about listewd all the blue states. Was that on purpose?
Well, you and Kamala have the exact same perspective when she was a prosecutor in California. Best you vote Joe.
Difference is she’ll change with the wind of public opinion, I won’t. Sorry.
“Doesnt matter.”
It matters - law does far more to deter and punish actual crimes with real victims; your parallel between rape and srug sale/use remains false.
That makes no sense whatsoever. Legalize a drug and then pay for the repercussions of abuse, etc.?
You really stick your nose in other folks business.
A distinction with no difference.
34% sux. I doubt anyone is deterred by that.
They bitched about it to me. WTF are you talking about?
“I know of people that bitched they had to take care of the kids and couldnt go to a pot party. Ive seen the resentment first hand.”
I’m sure it’s happened with respect to alcohol too - no justification there for a criminal-enriching ban.
“34% sux. I doubt anyone is deterred by that.”
Not anyone as stupid as you.
Hey, anyone that’s a criminal is ‘bothered’ by the law that prohibits their crime. Always have, always will be. If we legalized everything we want, life would be a lot easier. If it feels good do it, right?
You were a pothead criminal long before it was legal, if it is, locally.
You never cared about the law. If pot was a death penalty offense you’d still have used it. You’re that dumb. It works well in Singapore.
"Except for the red states, they're all blue states!"
LOL! You sound like a Dem.
The wails and lamentations of losing drug warriors is music to my ears. Your tears taste so sweet.
The day is coming soon when marijuana will be legal across the entire country. We aren't going back. It's about time.
“It works well in Singapore.”
Much less well in China or Iran, which have drug problems but few of the liberties we hold dear.
You love Singapore so much, move there. The Land of the Free won’t miss you.
