Hundreds of former aides to George W. Bush, John McCain endorse Biden for president

Several hundred former aides to President George W. Bush and Sen. John McCain announced Thursday that they are endorsing Joe Biden for president.

The statements of support for the Democratic nominee come as President Donald Trump prepares to accept his party's nomination on the final night of the Republican National Convention.

A political action committee, 43 Alumni for Biden, that launched last month posted a list of nearly 300 members of the Bush administration or campaigns who are publicly backing Biden. The names range from members of the Cabinet, including former Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez and former Secretary of Agriculture Ann Veneman, to ambassadors, to White House and advance staffers.

Meanwhile, more than 100 former staff of McCain's congressional offices and campaigns also endorsed Biden for president.

“Given the incumbent president’s lack of competent leadership, his efforts to aggravate rather than bridge divisions among Americans, and his failure to uphold American values, we believe the election of former Vice President Biden is clearly in the national interest,” they said in a letter.

Some of McCain’s former aides who signed the letter include Mark Salter, the senator's onetime chief of staff; Christian Ferry, who was deputy manager for McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign; Joe Donoghue, who was McCain's legislative director; and Mike Murphy, a GOP political consultant who was a strategist on McCain’s 2000 presidential campaign.

As Trump says, Bush’s war on Iraq wasn’t bad because the execution or strategy was wrong, it was a stupid idea to begin with. Iraq had no WMDs, had nothing to do with 911, and posed no threat to the US that couldn’t be contained by deterrence just as we contained the Soviet Union without invading. Moreover, as Trump points out, Iraq under Saddam was a counterweight to Iran, whereas toppling him destabilized the whole mideast. Moreover, Saddam kept the jihadis under his boot through a brutal rule over them. When we removed him the jihadis went wild, killing Christians (who had been safe under Saddam) and launching a civil war that killed half a million Iraqis and drove the entire middle class and professional class out of the country. Terrorists flooded into the lawless country from other places, so it became a “ Harvard for Terrorism, “ as Trump puts it. ALL THIS HAPPENED WITHIN MONTHS OF OUR INVASION - it wasn’t a mess that only happened later, in Bush’s second term, or when Obama came in And Bush presided over the writing of a constitution that officially enshrined sharia law as the ultimate authority. Under Saddams secular rule, women were “cover”less. After our invasion, the burka reappeared

Trump calls George Bush’s invasion of Iraq one of the stupidest, most destructive decisions in US foreign policy history And he’s so right

It was so chaotic that Bush “the liberator” was never able to travel there except on “surprise” visits to keep the terrorists he unleashed off guard. And, as Trump points out, that’s still the case today - when Trump went there, the airport lights had to be turned off to deny the terrorists the ability to see - and shoot at - his plane. The mess Bush created may continue for generations to come

I'm sure this will sway the Rust Belt. Not. These "officials" are asshat nobodies now. Maybe someone who follows Jeopardy might be able to name a couple of them. Working class America could not care less.

Now you know why Bush became an ineffective President and McCain became a whiny little baby in his 2008 campaign. The “DEEP STATE” existed further back in time than we thought.

None dare call them turncoats” but I will.

And millions of democrats/socialists lied about the Russian collusion delusion for over three years and became very comfortable as liars.

So much so they no longer know how to tell the truth.

One and all are well practiced liars.

#55. re “You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy”.

If we look hard in Hillary’s basement, Obama’s red house, and Biden’s Ukrainian dacha, you WILL find “a more wretched hive of scum and villainy”

The HIVE is WIDE AND DEEP AND OLD!

George Washington worried about the bureaucracy getting to much power. This is not new. Study the Byzantine Empire.

I was pleased to hear John Solomon say that it is possible that...if no indictments come out, some of those conspirators who have law licenses could have them revoked.

Which, if that happens, would be great.
What total embarrassment and inability to practice for those stupid, corrupt lawyers would be.

I would love to see that.

Big deal.

Add all these people together, and they wouldn’t have as much influence getting people to vote for Biden as one person like Taylor Swift or Katy Perry would.

Heck give their names to the average voter these days, and I doubt that one in twenty people would even recognize their names.

In addition, Slow Joe Biden is a grifter who used his position to enrich his family; notably his son Hunter who got placed on Burisma’s executive board and a capital venture in China. He can be bought.

I severely regret ever endorsing W. He was better than the alternatives, but I fiercely defended him. W is nothing more than a feckless, pandering jack-wagon. Piss be upon him.
