ABC6/FOX28 poll regarding DeWine impeachment threat receives more than 18,000 votes

...ABC6/FOX28 polls are typically left open for less than 12 hours. As our regular broadcast viewers are aware, we do a new poll each day, usually in our 7 pm newscast. With our software, we cannot start a new on-air poll until we close the previous poll.

Instead of ending this specific poll the next day, we made the decision to leave it open beyond 24 hours because it continued to generate a high number of votes...

In total, this poll generated 18,420 votes. The final results of the poll are as follows:

Yes: 83.02% No: 16.98% ...

Seriously? CBS Poll? Polls are crap. The poll I took in my bathroom is much more reliable than this poll. I suggest we poll to see who is in favor of recalling Nancy Pelosi, and impeaching Cuomo, Newsome, Pritzker,Lightfoot, Whitmer, Murphy, and all the other failed Democrats who are destroying our cities....

This poll got a lot of votes quickly. That does say something about the intensity.

It might prompt DeWine or some other entity to do some internal polling on this subject.

Regardless DeWine is a jerk bureaucrat, who is now in hiding.

Maybe he can hole up with Dr Amy.

Corruption finally catching up to DeWiner! For those not from Ohio, Governor DeWine is one of the richest Governors in the US. When he was in the US Senate, DeWine was rated as the 6th richest Senator in the US.

He doesn’t need to keep making dirty deals.

The only reason he got voted in is the alternative was libtards.

Of course it did. It was supposed to. Polls are, by design, intended on ‘selling’ something. Someone pays for them for their own interests, and it usually has nothing to do with facts. Most people don’t answer polls, so the results are based on the ones that actually do have something to gain. In my opinion. I trust the polls (by anyone) as much as I did in 3016, for the same reasons.

It sounds like this particular poll depended on viewers calling in, and that the local affiliates got many more than the usual number of calls. Consequently they kept the poll going longer than usual.

I’m not sure what to make of that. How do other political questions go (apparently the stations run polls regularly)?Do they tend to go Democrat? Freedom?

What is the purpose of polls? To somehow predict the future, which changes moment to moment depending on a multitude of factors? Anyone who has done computer models realizes that you are at best only able to approximate ‘most likely’ results, which are more accurate with the number of models performed. Sometimes you model thousands of cases and create an algorithm to sort for you. Pollsters, however, have to assume that they are getting a fair representation of data. If 30% of your respondents refuse to reply, and another 30% are ambivalent, then you are representing 40% who are decided. Then the pollsters can design the results that they want by asking the question in certain ways. If you notice, the CBS poll was unable to provide any description of datasets (how many were Democrats, how many were Republicans, how many were registered voters, how many were even able to vote (illegal, to young, etc.), so you know instinctively, that this was truly a crap poll that meant nothing. So what was their motivation? For one thing, they relied on ‘watchers’, which means they were trying to generate interest in their viewership, which means the questions that were asked were designed to get a strong response. Worthless. But it generated viewers and a lot of people to ‘waste their time’ (like me) in trying to focus on their lousy poll..

It sounds like the stations do this on a regular basis? How do other questions go?

You don’t always have the luxury of a random sample but I can’t think of too many ways of asking whether Dewine should be impeached.

I’d have to say it was a highly salient question to the viewership. It could be Democrats or it could be people sick of the lockdown.
