The man who gunned down John Lennon outside his Manhattan apartment in 1980 was denied parole for an 11th time.
New York state corrections officials said Wednesday that Mark David Chapman was interviewed by a parole board Aug. 19. Chapman is serving a 20-years-to-life sentence at Wende Correctional Facility east of Buffalo.

He should be denied parole just for not using any of those bullets on Yoko.
A comedian once said: 18 inches to the right, guy would have been a national hero.
Yeah, it made me laugh at the time.
Imagine that.
“What kind of country is this where John Lennon gets six bullets in the chest, and Yoko is standing next to him and not one f’ing bullet! Explain that to me!” - Dennis Leary
Good.
Why is he still alive? He killed a man in cold blood, and on purpose. I don’t understand.
Imagine no possessions.
But about $800 million in the bank (or so I heard).
Don’t really know what his worth was at that time.
I’ve heard that Elvis was only worth about $5 million 1977. Before his demise, I mean.
All those numbers are probably way off.
The biggest tragedy in all of this is that taxpayer money is being spent to keep Chapman alive.
*chuckle*
Yet John Hinckley is free to roam after nearly killing a POTUS, and maiming and/or killing others in the attack. Glad Chapman is still locked up though.
His older son got about $50,000. And insulted in Lennon’s final interview.
Jodie Foster still isn’t impressed.
And Chapman was closer to legal insanity than Hinckley.
And people (including teachers) go around talking as if Hinckley was a hero.
Interesting. Somewhere it was reported (at that time) JL was worth $800 million. I remember hearing that number.
$80 million I could believe. Then again, Tom Jones and the group ABBA were worth $1 billion (+) each.
Sounds like Yoko got the gold and he got the shaft (Jerry Reed).
Hes now my favorite Lennon.
That sounds like a Double Fantasy...
I doubt he had $800,000 much less $800,000,000.
I heard that the reason the Beatles broke up was because of the confiscatory taxation of Great Britain. In order to keep any of their money they had to invest it in things, thus the Apple recording label. But they were musicians, not businessmen, and things did not go well investment-wise.
Apparently, he have his first wife $75,000 for the divorce, then she wanted something for Julian. He created a trust with $100,000 to be divided equally among all his children. I think the widow eventually agree to give him a small amount in the 90s for something. He certainly didn’t treat his children close to equally.
