Players on the Milwaukee Bucks called Wednesday for the Wisconsin legislature to reconvene to address police brutality and criminal justice reform after boycotting their NBA playoff game to protest the police shooting of Jacob Blake.

"We are calling for justice for Jacob Blake and demand the officers be held accountable," Bucks guard George Hill said in a statement to reporters as several of his teammates stood behind him. "For this to occur, it is imperative for the Wisconsin legislature to reconvene after months of inaction and take meaningful measures to address police accountability, brutality and criminal justice reform."

"We encourage all citizens to educate themselves, take peaceful and responsible action and remember to vote on November 3," Hill added.

This little stunt by the Bucks will likely lead to a veto proof majority for the Republicans in the WI Legislature. There was an off chance of it happening before all of this, but this likely seals the deal.

I did the research and found out that GOP controls both Senate and Assembly...
Would the GOP give up and pass “reforms” pushed by Evers?

Would voters complain to GOP representatives about not going along with Evers? I am sure that some of those voters do watch Bucks and Brewers...

Yep - the owner said that “Some things are bigger than basketball” and I tweeted to ask what basketball is bigger than - just a game with fantasy thoughts of grandeur and we won’t miss it if it just goes away.

Every member of the “woke” sports media urging NBA players to boycott the season should quit their own jobs to show solidarity. After all, if you want these players to sacrifice their careers, you should be willing to sacrifice yours as well.

Mark Cuban’s a perfect example. He has gone into hiding, not responding to requests for interviews. That’s never happened before. Boo hoo hoo, their golden goose has been killed.

They would be able to put down any attempt by Evers to veto legislation they pass. Our representatives at the State level are quite conservative. Most of them got their start during the Walker years.
