You can see that he had something in his hand, which he had taken out of the back of his waistband, and then just as he goes to the car door, you can see him drop something on the ground and the cop behind him reaching towards it.
So he probably did have a knife, which he dropped so he wouldn’t be considered armed (he had a warrant on him, and this would have complicated it).
I don’t know what he was reaching for in the car.
I guess we’ll find out more, because the children and I think his girlfriend were in the car and would have seen it all.
If he had a knife the cop would have never have gotten that close to the suspect near the driver door. I certainly wouldn’t.
It was also mentioned on the Rush Limbaugh show today, that
this guy had priors for guns in his vehicles.
It looks like the picture those may have been car keys. He should have complied and nothing would have happened.
If they reasonably believed he had a knife, and I’ve seen something in his hand in a picture, that’s enough. When these d’bags learn to comply with police officers the shooting will drop dramatically.
I heard the same thing. Video looks like a karambit. No way it was keys. What kind of lock would require a giant curved black key?
