Hurricane Laura emerged from the Caribbean Sea, leaving behind flooding and fatalities in Hispaniola and Cuba. Former Hurricane Marco dissipated Tuesday morning, a few hours before Laura strengthened to a hurricane.

maybe...but huge tall eyewall on the now on north side may be weakening the radar beam from anything downstream
looks better out of Houston...although no perfect
so most likely some of both
Just the fact that radars have a hard time seeing the southern eyewall between blockage from the northern eyewall and curvature of the Earth. As the storm gets closer, the radar will fill in.

Yep, don’t underestimate what it could do in Kentucky, Virginia, etc. Camille killed over 100 in Virginia, alone.

Correct but eye also looking ragged on IR now..was almost a perfect circle
