1 Peter 5:8 New King James Version

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

I like the King James version of this (and NKJV) because they use the phrase “whom” he may devour.

Don’t give Satan a reason to devour you. ESPECIALLY a high profile religious leader. He just LOVES to devour those.

IF true, which it looks like it is, Falwell should resign, repent, ask for forgiveness, and begin again in a low profile servant position.

WWJD? Would He have done any of those things you were doing? We need not even ask such a ridiculous question.

Mr. Falwell, you sir have lost your way. Go back to being a humble servant. GIVE AWAY all your earthly belongings and “follow Him”.

I fear that you will not because Satan has his hooks into you so deep that you will try to get away with this. Rationalize your failings and try to continue in this sinful lifestyle you have come to enjoy.

I hope to never hear your name again.

Ughhh it must be "Dirt Bags Tell All, Day" in the media-More ugly family issues made public.

Prayers for Falwell and family.

Apparently the media think it's big news that Christian's sin, and families have problems. Who knew? 😒

“His dad sure seemed like an upstanding guy.”

I truly believe he was. I was friends with people in Alaska who knew him well (all in the Moral Majority) in the ‘80s. Never heard a negative thing about him.

From 2019:

Becki Tilley, Jerry Falwell Jr.’s Wife: 5 Fast Facts

Becki Tilley is frequently seen in public with her husband. The couple has been in the news due to a recent scandal involving Trump’s former lawyer/fixer Michael Cohen. In a recorded conversation between Cohen and actor Tom Arnold that was reviewed by Reuters, Cohen details how somebody had obtained “personal” photographs of the couple the would typically be kept “between husband and wife,”. Michael Cohen intervened and destroyed the photographs before they could be made public.

Hmm.

Eeewww. That’s just creepy. Some jewelry is better for Christians to avoid (IMO only). The last time I went in to a Bible store I couldn’t find a King James Bible, BUUUT ... they were selling toe rings at the register.

What’s the problem with toe rings ? I’ve been sporting one for over 20 years, and I’m a guy. No one has ever said a negative word to me about it.

Reports claimed Falwell had tendered his resignation yesterday after the Reuters report. The Washington Post contacted him and he claimed he had not resigned. He referred them to his attorney. Reports are that he has hired a PR firm. This is bad news. It means he plans to fight regardless of evidence the Falwells' accuser has already presented to Reuters.

These people are blinded by their own egos. They should make a clean break with Liberty University for the sake of the school and the students. I see a slow, angry decline into disaster for the Falwells that brings to mind King Saul's when he refused to heed the prophet Samuel.

“You call him a Christian?”

I have no reason not to consider him a Christian. I don’t know any followers of Christ who are sinless. Everyone I know messes up all the time. Hence their need for a Savior.

I think it’s wisest to wait for all the details to emerge before forming an opinion and casting judgment.

I would guess that you’re not perfect, that you portray yourself better than you actually are. If so, I guess that makes you a hypocrite as well.
