I wonder if he's had a genuine change of heart, he thinks Trump is going to win and just doesn't want to be associated with the losing side or if it really is just "family matters".

I find it curious considering there was a story the other day about other Republicans who consider themselves true conservatives but just don't like Trump for whatever reason and joined the Lincoln Project. They were highly dismayed and abandoning the group in droves when they found out it was little more than a left wing front group masquerading as disaffected Republicans. Pushing things like open borders, support for BLM, gun control laws etc.
