'If it doesn't look right, it's probably not' What should you do if you're driving your car and you find yourself surrounded by an angry mob?
That's the question that former Navy SEAL Jack Carr answered Friday on Fox News' "Tucker Carlson Tonight." What's the background?
Violent protests and unrest have been commonplace in major cities nationwide since the tragic killing of George Floyd. Though demonstrations have fizzled out in most cities, protests continue in cities like Portland, Seattle, and Chicago.
On Sunday, a shocking video went viral because it showed an angry mob in Portland force a white man out of his wrecked truck; that driver was then brutally assaulted. Fortunately, police have since arrested the suspect.
The situation has left many wondering: With protesters routinely blocking highways and harassing motorists, what exactly should one do if they find themselves in a similar situation? What did Carr say?
Carr explained:
Some of those basics are: Stay in the car, doors closed, locks, locked doors, windows up, and that only allows you some level of protection. It does give you a level of protection but it only goes so far, but the main thing is to avoid those right away.
So, situational awareness. Looking around, being aware that there are threats, picking your head up out of that phone and turning around. If you turn a corner and you see something that doesn't look right — as an army special forces sniper from Vietnam told me years ago — he said, "if it doesn't look right, it's probably not." So trust those instincts and pay attention to that sixth sense that has kept us alive as a species since we've been on this planet. If it doesn't look right, turn around, reverse, get out of there.
But what if you find yourself surrounded by a "violent mob?" According to Carr, one should know how to use their tools of defense.
"So remember, your vehicle is a weapon, but you don't want to be in that position to begin with," he said. "Now, if you do get to that phase where you have to fight, it's good to be prepared and to know how to fight."
And for those with firearms, Carr instructed people to "invest" in firearm training, so they know how to properly use it in a situation where they need to defend themselves or their family.
"Get that training," Carr advised. "For those who are wrestling with the fact that they might have to defend themselves, I always think, 'What if you just appeared here out of nowhere and all of a sudden you were violently attacked by a person or a group of people?' You wouldn't need a piece of paper that told you it was okay to defend this gift of human life."

I had called a radio station after a ‘traffic report’ that is basically telling all that the roads are sheet of ice with snow drifts 10 foot high.
When I told the screener that the report is false and traffic moving fine he told me to hold and the host came on (off air) and explained that if there was the slightest chance of a ‘problem’ that they couldn’t tell the motoring public that things are fine so they have to go to ‘worse case scenario’ or at least a ‘bad’ one.

The problem isn't the states. This crap is happening in red states as well. It's blue cities with communist District Attorneys bought and paid for by George Soros.
Or if surrounded, maybe cramp the wheel to the right, put it in reverse, gun the engine, pop the clutch.
This will flatten anyone trying to pry your door open, put distance between the people on the other side of the car and those in front, and point you away from the core of the mob when you straighten the wheel, put it in drive and floor it.

That may very well be the case, but better be judged by twelve than carried by six. And if I feel my life is in danger, even so I am an extremely peaceful person, believe me I will take some one with me.

The only way I'd stop before I knew I was clear would be if so many were wrapped around my axles I couldn't' proceed.

I’ve been in that situation. While reporting a crime, I followed the perpetrator. I was in my car speaking with dispatch.
Suddenly a bunch of big black guys were running at my car.
They began beating on my car and trying to open the door.
The police were in view and coming on hard so I didn’t have to do anything.
It was amazing how fast they hit the ground when they had laser beams on their chests.
Adrenaline was running high. If the police were not in view, I was getting ready to use my bumper.
The thing I'd be prepared for is the slashing of tires. That's something these mobs have been doing lately.
I'd think that to prevent that, going a little faster than 2-3 mph would be necessary. I'd continually blast the horn, if only to disrupt their own communications. But then I'd increase my speed to 5 and then 10 mph and keep pushing out.
Anything faster than that could be interpreted as bashing into the crowd, which is what happened to that guy in Charlottesville who also made a wrong turn and was trying to get away from an advancing mob.

3. IF WINDOWS ARE BROKEN OUT OR TIRES SLASHED, BEGIN TO FIRE RAPIDLY OUT OF WINDOWS ON BOTH SIDES WHILE ACCELERATING. .
4. DO NOT STOP UNTIL CLEAR OF DANGER. BE PREPARED TO DEFEND YOURSELF IMMEDIATELY AFTER STOPPING. (RELOAD)

The sad truth is if you’re White and are surrounded and save your life and you’re in a democrat town you’re screwed.
