Not until lurid headlines damned Carter Page as a traitor to his country in September 2016, six weeks before the presidential election, did he realize someone was using him to play a dirty political trick.
Reporters had been hounding the energy investor with strangely detailed questions about his ties to Russia. Page told each of them that he was a former US Navy lieutenant, a graduate of Annapolis, an Eagle Scout hardly a likely protagonist in some cloak-and-dagger drama.
But he had also served as a foreign policy adviser to Donald J. Trump. And secretly, within a collection of Democratic opposition-research memos soon to be known as the Steele Dossier, Page had been cast as the GOP candidates liaison to Vladimir Putin.

In a LOCKDOWN PRISON PLANET we are all pawns, save the ELITE.
I find it odd that Flynn, Papadopoulos, Cohn, Manafort and Stone all got indicated but Page was untouched.
How did he get so lucky?
Re: Carter Page - naive victim?
I agree with your impression - his nonchalance about being a target of prosecution is not credible.
(1) Page politely introduced himself to his prosecutor in the Grand Jury hallway and expected what - a polite greeting and hand shake from the prosecutor?
(2) Page “eagerly supported Robert Muellers appointment.”
A normal informant would have been on the phone to his CIA-FBI handlers the first day this started screaming, “What the f*** are you guys doing to me!”
He would also be seriously worried that CIA-FBI would try to solve all their problems with a timely Carter Page “suicide.”
I have heard Carter Page interviewed. He is as cool and collected as they come.
He does not give the left the pleasure of being emotional.
Yes, he volunteered to serve his country as a CIA informant and was then framed by the FBI as a Russian asset.
Remember, the CIA memo did say Page was an asset. It was FBI lawyer, Clinesmith, who altered the memo to say Page “was not” an asset.
The other five were charged with non-Russia crimes - lying to the FBI, loan application fraud, etc.
Carter Page took the easy way out - he never lied to them, he paid his taxes, and he earned his living within the law.
Page could have willingly been a pawn cooperating with Strzok to vector in on Trump and his campaign transition teams using the two hop surveillance parameters. Carter Page may have known about the FISA warrant recognizing that he would never be prosecuted. I found it odd that he didnt hire a lawyer during most of the witch-hunt. And he lacked a sense of outrage and anger.
What has always struck me as odd is that this plot started long before President Trump declared his candidacy. You dont start an investigation of Russian ties after he announced. Plans have to be made, people put in place to run the show, communications monitored and leaks MUST be managed. That takes time.
Page was already a target before the President announced. So, the question remains - why did the plot start in the first place.
To that, I reply:
“Yeah, sure, and Mao Tse Tong was just a beatnik author!!”
Page writes like the very intelligent person his resume describes. Unfortunately, his persona on TV makes him appear to be a bit less than that (as, I’m sure, would be the case for most of us). It’s good to see that his book sets the record straight.
Because they were setting up to do this to all candidates?
Page sent a letter directly to Comey on September 25, 2016
From the letter:
Having interacted with members of the U.S. intelligence community including the FBI and CIA for many decades, I appreciate the limitations on your staffs time and assets. Although I have not been contacted by any member of your team in recent months, I would eagerly await their call to discuss any final questions they might possibly have in the interest of helping them put these outrageous allegations to rest while allowing each of us to shift ourattention to relevant matters. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
We all KNEW he was a SPY because he was the ONLY one NOT INDICTED!! He was The Dog that didn't bark!
Remember, the CIA memo did say Page was an asset. It was FBI lawyer, Clinesmith, who altered the memo to say Page was not an asset.
That’s correct. He made a huge material change to the email that flipped the context 180 degrees.
To listen to the MSM and their scant coverage of this, you’d think Klinesmith had simply altered the font in the letterhead because he thought it looked better.
Read #16.
“Page was already a target before the President announced. So, the question remains - why did the plot start in the first place.”
In her mind, Hillary was a shoo-in for the presidency. With the help of her deep state friends, was she trying to set up Trump for extortion...a huge donation to her foundation?
