A radio station in Cleveland fired a news anchor this week after her referred to Democrat Kamala Harris as the nations first colored vice presidential candidate, according to reports.
Anchor Kyle Cornell, 26, used the description of Harris in a news promo spot that aired during WTAM radios broadcast of a Cleveland Indians baseball game, Cleveland.com reported.
Some baseball fans quickly posted negative reactions on social media, Cleveland's WKYC-TV reported.

When I go to Home Depot to buy paint, the color chart shows white as one of the choices. Just saying.
Hey! Prepositions matter! Every bit as much as preferred pronouns.
Why is colored worse than calling her black? Did they think he should have referred to her wonderful tan?
I wonder. If I send a check to the national association for the advancement of colored people for $1 million, are they going to send it back because I referenced them as “colored?”
I guess abu would not fly either? One media outlet at least here in Jax refuses to racially ID suspects in crimes. The usual ID given is six foot male slim build 20-25yo followed by no further details available. Go to the Fox outlet and they have a photo! Really POs me. That changed when ownership occurred. Now we get rehashed AP stories also as if they are true.
No one warned me that there would be a quiz!
Hmmm - "Woman of color" is a compliment but "Colored woman" is demeaning....and it's amusing that a "woman of color" can probably get away with saying "colored"...like the "N" word can only be used by....uh-oh, I better stop.
In color theory white is actually all colors. Black is the absence of color.

Black and white are generally considered colors. However, technically speaking: In art, white is the absence of all color and black is the presence of all color. To artists, black is considered a color, white is generally not.
In light, the opposite holds true. Black is the absence of color, and white is the presence of all colors
Correct. That is a good approach.
Whose language is it anyway?
In my country we speak E-N-G-L-I-S-H!
“I think it is safest to not publicly refer to them at all; this has served me well for decades.”
Agreed, same here. But I see the day when racist race reverse race relations are pushed to the limit of out and out warfare. In which case the “N” word will be revived.
I have a feeling in the privacy of homes, people discussing news of riots are already doing so.
IMO, race relations were at their best pre-obama, or maybe the 90’s for sure.
What’s bothersome is race is just a front for the commie’s to use. The bothersome part is the vast majority of Black people likely want nothing to do with the racism going on now, but if the commie’s push towards CWII, anyone “of color” will be easy targets just because of their color. It’s truly sad what the commies are doing.
I sincerely hope this does not come to be. I have faith that if Trump is the one inaugurated in Jan, that he has a plan to defuse all of this and put the agitators in jail.
From 1984:
'Don't you see that the whole aim of Newspeak is to narrow the range of thought? In the end we shall make thoughtcrime literally impossible, because there will be no words in which to express it. Every concept that can ever be needed, will be expressed by exactly one word, with its meaning rigidly defined and all its subsidiary meanings rubbed out and forgotten. Already, in the Eleventh Edition, we're not far from that point. But the process will still be continuing long after you and I are dead. Every year fewer and fewer words, and the range of consciousness always a little smaller. Even now, of course, there's no reason or excuse for committing thoughtcrime. It's merely a question of self-discipline, reality-control. But in the end there won't be any need even for that. The Revolution will be complete when the language is perfect.
A bucket of water

see what I did there?
Why are people being so niggardly in their use of the word “colored”?
naacp.
Those are rap lyrics. Can't waut for all existing rap songs to be recorded again, saying "N dot dot dot dot dot dot dot"
Might change some of the rhymes, though.
The grammar police demand that you can say “People of color” but bot “Colored people”. Go figure.
ff
So, she’s not colored?
