The 2020 Atlantic Hurricane season continues to heat up as we are two weeks shy of average season peak activity. Two tropical systems are taking aim at the Gulf of Mexico concurrently. Tropical Storm Laura has formed east of the Leeward Islands. Marco is approaching the Yucatan Peninsula.
There is a possibility we may see the amazing Fujiwhara Effect, where two storms within 870 miles of each other will dance around each other. If one storm is significantly stronger, the weaker storm will be absorbed into the stronger storm. If the two storms are similar in size, they can gravitate toward each other until they reach a common point where they either merge or they spin each other around for a while before they spin off in different directions. The likelihood of a Fujiwhara Effect is low, however, due to the relatively small area in the Gulf of Mexico.
Laura's fate is dependent upon the extent of interaction with the tall mountains of Hispanola and Cuba.

So....why am I not seeing Marco on my weather radar. ?
The rats are super dirty once they do get power.
The one in Key West, a lezzie mayor, somehow managed to get the majority of 3,800 write in votes to win a 3-way election going away. We suspect many were out of state with out of state voters miraculously all claiming Key West as their home town so they can vote here. What a coincidence....!!The gay power of Key West is unbelievable but sadly real.
This after trying her best to destroy the city of Key West which is a virtual ghost town at this point. Over 100 small businesses already gone out of business and more expected to go
This one is vindictive as well.If you cross her expect the gendarmes to visit your business or home in short order. We are up against a budding commie venue that will stop at nothing for sheer power over us.
It's not likely Key West or much of the Keys will see much from either storm but just to make sure the economy takes yet another dive the Key West mayor ordered tourists out and those in trailers, boats gone along with vehicles with height to leave.Just sort of rubbing it in that she can pretty much do whatever damage she wants with no one saying anything for a variety of reasons.
August ,Sept. and October are dead months for most businesses anyway down here, seems the mayor wants to make sure they are even worse than normal. She doesn't need or want capitalism for sure.
At least we get to blast her every Wednesday from Two Friends Patio Restaurant in key west as three of us shout out the voices of Conservative freedom on two stations across the keys on another edition of Keys Talk Radio. Our show is heard on 97.7 in the Lower keys and 103.1 in the Upper Keys and South Miami from 8-9 am Eastern.

Meanwhile 20-30 miles north of the reef in Fla. Bay there is buoy after buoy where no one goes,go figure. This is what happens when govt., especially big govt. does stuff that we(private enterprise) should be doing.
My bet is Trump will fix all this in his second term,he can not be fooled.
It would appear God is angry with our nation.
Great to hear the radio waves carry conservative talk throughout the FL Keys! Thank you for all you do to get out the message!
I try and do my little part but the real heroes are here what you do providing up to date and accurate info for those who truly need it.Great job!
The Fukushima Effect
Whoa, Nelly. And here it looked like we were gonna dodge two bullets. Gotta get back outside and try to get the yard work finished, before one or both pull another Crazy Ivan and track any further east. We may be getting a spot of weather after all.
Ahhh you went I10west.... oh that was a death trap. We went north then east to my family in Ms... thinking we were soo smart. Rita turned and my mom and I ended up in a tornado that spawned from Rita... After we drove 16 hours (b/c of traffic) to get away.
Hoping you were able to complete your yard work this evening.
Maybe he thinks land interaction will affect steering more than the Fujiwhara effect.
600 miles or so, close enough for some Fujiwhara effect. It would make the first storm turn left and the second storm turn right.
Good to know - yes, the liberal are progressing only totalitarian dictatorhips. Er, dictatorships. Not all lesbians are wide.
Yes, the very experienced meteorologist indicated that land interaction would most likely inhibit the Fujiwhara potential. He described the effect would be more pronounced in a larger body of water (eg ocean).
I surely hope you feel better after getting that off your chest!
Oh, boy! This situation looks like a doozy.
Unprecedented?
I don’t like that word, when hurricanes are involved.
