Remember how Trump brought Jeb Bush low by characterizing him as “low energy”? Few major American events in my lifetime have been as low energy as the Democratic National Convention’s first night. It was the opposite of stirring, motivating, thrilling, exciting. By the time the two hours were over, America was so dehydrated it needed a saline drip. The proceedings were exactly what you’d actually watch at a quadrennial party gathering if you were in attendance, on the floor as a delegate or in the cheap seats as an audience member or the press. The thing is, normal folks have never actually seen all this nonsense because the TV networks wisely refuse to show it, as it’s just pablum partisan propaganda. Instead, they cut to their own reporters and anchors to try and manufacture drama and excitement to carry the audience through the four days of the proceedings.

This junk is what was on the big screens at the convention centers and arenas, and at the podium. But you know what? The many thousands of people crammed into the arenas where the conventions were held pre-COVID barely paid attention. No, they’d be chatting, socializing, handing out hats and posters, trying to get selfies with the party’s stars as those stars wander across the floor.
Think of this as the political version of caffeine-free diet soda–the most complete simulacrum there is. Just as that drink has nothing in it that actually makes a cola a cola, what happened last night had nothing that makes a convention a convention. These conventions had already become almost totally fake before.
What we learned last night is that when you sever the last connection to the conventions of old—the people—you divorce them completely of any meaning, even vestigial meaning.
Conventions had long since become simulations—the crowd response being the simulation of the emotions the candidate wanted the American people to feel as they considered casting a vote for him. This year, neither the Democratic nor the Republican conventions can provide that stimulation.
What we learned last night is that what they can provide, instead, is…weirdness.
The DNC has less energy than Jeb Bush. Meanwhile the real DNC is throwing molotov cocktails at the ICE building in Portland.
Yes. Their wonderful supporters in crime.
Hate to break it to them but Obama and Michelle aren't on the ballot in November, and in a week their speech will be forgotten, the party will be over and you'll be back to just tired old Joe and mediocre Kamala.
Nothing they could’ve said or done would’ve been inspiring. Keeping their hate filled base happy by knocking Trump every step of the way is all they could do. “We’re not Trump” is all they have.
Thus far, this has played with all the warmth, sincerity, and honesty of a late night infomercial. It's is excruciatingly dull. It makes "An Inconvenient Truth" look like an action movie. There just seems to be the morbid fascination on making sure everyone gets their five minutes to bash Trump -- and that's about it.
Inappropriate as this is I’m going to say it anyway. Only thing “golden” Obama is giving the Democratic Party is a shower.....if you get my drift.

Face facts, folks, regardless of what the Fake New Media rants and raves, Michelle Obama, & Barack (The Magic Negro & His Magic Wand) Hussein Obama have lost their Magic Negro & Magic Wand status. Now....for all Americans to view and see they are nothing but Hate America, race haters and have been that way since their gloomy days under the guidance of “Hate America, Black Racist”, the Reverend, Jeremiah Wright!!! End of story!!! Case Closed!!!
Enthusiasm, optimism and joy are not options for them. Their available choices are foaming-at-the-mouth angry, or Lithium-dulled rage. They calculated that something resembling dull would be less threatening to swing-state voters.
Apparently, the DNC national convention is even more boring than the LDS General Conference. And Mormon friends have privately told me that the General Conference is excruciatingly boring and they have dreaded it since childhood.
“America’s Got Talent” drew a larger audience, than that dog and pony show, according to the ratings.
I agree. But keep in mind all their supporters hate America and its core values. What values it was built on anyhow....
We have the likes of that little girl/boy? creation with the blue hair who sang? while grabbing her crotch and jumping about. Those are the young supporters of the left. I mean, so be able to even call that child an entertainer of any sort is mind boggling in itself. What can another child, armed with the right to vote, possibly do for America, or CARE about regarding America? Their agenda? Gay rights. Animal rights. Save the planet from evil fossil fuel. Legalize drugs. That’s about it.
