A total of 59 officers will retire in August and another 51 retirements are set for the month of September, vice president of the board of trustees for the Policemen’s Annuity and Benefit Fund of Chicago Michael Lappe told the Chicago Sun-Times. The recent totals are more than double the average rate of monthly retirement of 24 officers, Lappe told the Times.

Going to have to go Clockwork Orange and hire Antifa to be cops.

He, Alex, the old ultraviolence is much more fun with a uniform and badge.

They must also love murders and other crimes being at record highs as well then.

When the Mayor of your city doesn’t have your back, it is time to leave. No visiting the big cities for a while......wait until they have responsible leadership. Will be a LONG TIME for Chicago, Seattle, Portland, Denver and NYC............

If what “moderate” democrats can’t or don’t see what is going on, then we are in for a rough period no matter who is elected President....

I’m referring mostly to state and local elections...

These are just the mass retirements. I am sure that younger cops also plan to leave as soon as they get hired in a different, more law abiding city.

Directive 10-289 (Atlas Shrugged)

“Point One. All workers, wage earners and employees of any kind whatsoever shall henceforth be attached to their jobs and shall not leave nor be dismissed nor change employment, under penalty of a term in jail.

Maybe Chicago can institute a draft to fill positions in the police dept.

This is going to get interesting very soon. BLM is getting what it wants, but how will the rest of the citizens like it?

The only problem is that many of the residents from Chicago are moving to Red states and bringing their warped liberalism that contributed to the situation in Chicago to those areas. I noticed several in the West Tennessee/NE Mississippi area as of late with liberalist leanings and beliefs posting with editorials in the newspapers and social medial.

Retirement???
How can Chit-ago pay them?
I thought Chit-ago was in financial trouble.
If the Police had any real back bone they would just QUIT!
Retirement does not show me any backbone.
And, I am not one that hates Cops.
We need them and most of them are doing a fine job.
