Ratings Woes Continue for Woke NBA, MLB
Breitbart ^ | August 18 2020 | WARNER TODD HUSTON

The NBA and MLB, two of the nation’s biggest pro sports, have returned to TV after the COVID-19 hiatus. However, their ratings show that fans just aren’t all that interested in the new, woke version of the leagues.

Both basketball and baseball hit screens this summer filled with paeans to Black Lives Matter: Protests during the national anthem, and an avalanche of sloganeering on signs, stadium floors and fields, and on player jersey backs. Along with the intrusion of this political activism on TV during the games, the two leagues have literally blasted social media with one woke proclamation after another.

For weeks ahead of the debut of the shortened 2020 seasons, NBA and MLB sports reporters brayed about how “important” the leagues’ returns were and insisted that fans were “hungry” for sports.

Posts BUMP! I glanced at a tv while eating in a bar/restaurant last night and it looked like cardboard cutout fans in the stands. LOL! WTF?

The players turned themselves into brain-dead leftist NPCs (non player characters)—the cardboard characters in the stands are perfect reflections of the players.

Fans are interested in sports. They can get virtue signaling anywhere. Why waste a couple of hours in front of a tv set?

Part of being a fan is knowing the the team and players, liking them, respecting them and enjoying watching them play. The players interact with the public and establish a relationship with the fans. There is a bond. When the players disrespect you, the flag and the country, they break that bond. Why the hell would I want to spend my time watching people who I do not like, let alone buy their jersey? At this point, I don't know how they bring back the fans they pushed away.

Reviews of Rollerball...

Critical response[edit]
Vincent Canby of The New York Times was unimpressed:[17]

All science-fiction can be roughly divided into two types of nightmares. In the first the world has gone through a nuclear holocaust and civilization has reverted to a neo-stone Age. In the second, of which “Rollerball” is an elaborate and very silly example, all of mankind’s problems have been solved but at the terrible price of individual freedom. ... The only way science-fiction of this sort makes sense is as a comment on the society for which it’s intended, and the only way “Rollerball” would have made sense is a satire of our national preoccupation with televised professional sports, particularly weekend football. Yet “Rollerball” isn’t a satire. It’s not funny at all and, not being funny, it becomes, instead, frivolous.

Gene Siskel of the Chicago Tribune gave the film 2 stars out of 4 and called it “a movie in love with itself” and “vapid, pretentious, and arrogant. Not even John Houseman’s fine performance as a villainous corporate director is sufficient to make ‘Rollerball’ tolerable. The only way to enjoy it, I suppose, is to cheer at the rollerball game’s mayhem.”[18] Arthur D. Murphy of Variety, wrote that it “packs an emotional and intellectual wallop” and that James Caan gave an “excellent performance.”[19] Charles Champlin of the Los Angeles Times was also positive, calling it “a fresh, unusual and stimulating movie. In its portraying of the vast and essentially stateless multinational corporations, ‘Rollerball’ plays off developments which have come since Huxley’s and Orwell’s time.

“In general: the only way Biden/Harris wins is if the mass mail-in voter fraud attempts succeed.”

Bad politicians are like bad food. As you’re chewing it up you might spit it out. Some might get ingested and passed through your body. Watch/see. It stinks. Sometimes you need a plunger. Bye bye JoeJoe, Comma, la.

Chew ‘em up, spit ‘em out, laugh at them.

RULE 5: “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.”

There is no defense. It’s irrational. It’s infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions. (Pretty crude, rude and mean, huh? They want to create anger and fear.)

Call Saul Alinsky.

Didn’t Hillaryous Rotten Criminal write her master thesis about him at Wellesley? 1/2 The Greatest Crime couple in American history. Is that side of beef still alive? Didn’t the SS toss it in the back of the hearse last election?

After playing baseball and football in high school I’ve always been a Sports fan.
After ESPN began pushing their liberal bias I canceled my cable.
Since the stoopids in sports of all kinds feel it necessary to besmirch my country they can go to hell.
I refuse to watch the N.F.L. N.B.A. M.L.B. or any other sport that feels a need to support socialism or show disrespect for the country that has given so many so much.
Try traveling around the world some and see how bad other places are. Maybe get out of your folks basement.

In the end, they’ll just all decide to stop playing the national anthem at all. But still, these idiots will find a way to take a knee. They’ll call it a compromise, but it’ll be the eventual final nail in their coffin.

I have been a really big fan of the MLB for all my life, but really like the idea of a brand new league rising up from the ashes.

Perhaps what these sports need is what the DNC has been preaching - diversity, then the woke crowd could tune in. Isn’t that what their campaign is about - diversity? Why pick the best and brightest when diversity is the answer.

See those empty stands with the odd cardboard cutouts and stuff......get used to it.

Beyond bizarre. Maybe more bizarre than wearing masks.
