Arrest warrant issued for head of Virginia Senate, 13 others in monument attack that resulted in critical injury

Virginia State Sen. Louise Lucas (D), who serves as Senate Pro Tempore, has been charged with felony conspiracy and other charges in an incident where she, along with other conspirators, allegedly damaged a Confederate statue in Portsmouth that also resulted in serious injuries to a protester.

“Sen. Louise Lucas faces charges of conspiracy to commit a felony and injury to a monument in excess of $1,000, Portsmouth Police Chief Angela Greene said during a news conference,” says Politico.

The protester, Chris Green, was critically injured at the scene and is currently under care at a rehabilitation center with permanent injuries. The incident happened in June.

“Greene said the independent investigation started after several requests were made to look into the circumstances that led to the destruction of the monument and Green’s injury,” reports 13NewsNow.

“It’s deeply troubling that on the verge of Virginia passing long-overdue police reform,” says Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam via Twitter, “the first Black woman to serve as our Senate Pro Tempore is suddenly facing highly unusual charges.”

Interesting. Perhaps Virginia will provide her sanctuary from fed prosecution? How’s this playing locally?

Nothing will happen for 4 reasons:

1) Black
2) Democrat
3) Female
4) Elderly

Maybe a slap on the wrist, or maybe it’ll just be ignored long enough it’s forgotten.

Is the Legislature is session?

If it is she can just constantly claim she’s going to a vote. Pretty sure you can’t arrest a legislator if they need to vote on a bill.

I recall a lot of members of the MA general court using that excuse when the cops busted them for drunk driving.

Oh look, the Governor is trying to assert himself and poison the prosecution, by pretending these are “unusual” charges.

They are, in the sense that we didn’t used to elect people that then led insurrections against their own government.

But the democrats elected a bunch of people like this. In my town, the delegate for the city actually came over into the county, a separate district, and led a riot against the police. There are even pictures of him physically pushing back against county police who were trying to clear the rioters off the street. Unfortunately, he was not arrested or charged with obstruction.

Just what I would expect from Governor Black Face.

At the riot, she kept intervening and telling police that she was in charge of the government and they would not be allowed to arrest anybody.

Does this qualify as a "twofur"??

"...“the first Black woman to serve as our Senate Pro Tempore is suddenly facing highly unusual charges.”

This shoul be "the first Black woman to go to jail for her crime"...Regardless of the color of her skin and her sex, Sen. Louise Lucas is NOT ABOVE THE LAW. She sided with law breakers, encouraged law breaking, broke her sworn vows of office.....it is time parasites like this Senator paid the consequences for their wrong doing.

NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW IN AMERICA...NO ONE!

Let her and her ilk pay the bills for the injured party.

WE will get to keep him on life support for the next XXXX years.

That is one of the bigger problems we get stuck with when there are 40 or so people shot and only 1 or 2 killed.

At least ‘we’ can pay to bury the dead but then ‘we’ get stuck with the medical for the survivors.

Too bad they don’t have ‘gangsta’ insurance to cover the hospital bills...
