The party will likely sit back and do nothing as long as it looks like Biden can win, but if Joe's poll numbers take a dive over the next month or he really flubs the debates I wouldn't put it past them to try the old switcharoo....
However, the problem for democrats is because of their push for early and mail in voting, there will have been a significant number of votes already cast if Biden drops out in, say, mid-October. The law is pretty clear those votes would simply be discarded if he dropped out, no state in existence allows a vote to transfer to a different candidate or a "revote". So the more likely course the democrat party would take, would be to leave Biden on the top of the ballot so all his votes would count, but make it clear to voters "you may be checking the box for Biden....but you are REALLY voting for Harris."

everybody forgets that Joe is in permanent atrial fibrillation, which means the upper two chambers of his heart don’t beat but instead quiver, which means he loses 20% of his heart’s pumping capacity and that he has to take anticoagulant drugs every day for the rest of his life to avoid stroking out from blood clots in the left atrial appendage, AND in many (most?) folks causes dizziness, weakness, and fatigue (i know it caused all three for me until i got the afib fixed with cryoablation) ... and then there’s the issue that permanent afib can lead to heart failure:

He must survive til after the convention nominates him and he is the official dem nominee for president. He can’t be removed and replaced after being placed officially on the ballot.
After he is nominated and then goes undeniably bonkers as the presidential nominee, making K the presidential nominee can’t be done. . .all 50 states already have him listed as the presidential nominee and any changes are past any date to allow changes.
Basically, K can’t be placed as the presidential nomination because Biden is locked in as the presidential nominee and K is officially locked in as the VP so she can’t be moved to being the presidential nominee.
But then again, the dems make up their own rules. . .but NOT the rules in republican states (thank gawd).
My belief is that the Presidential race was ceded to Trump back when all the big guns came out to endorse Biden. They will put up a good front but their heart is not in it. Better to let the shame of losing rest on Biden.
Better to spend the effort and money keeping the House and attempting the Senate.
No person in their right mind could be the Presidential candidate at this late date.

My personal prediction has been Biden will start talking gibberish too obvious to mask over, and then yelling and crying hysterically for five minutes-—in public on TV.

I don't believe Biden is a Trojan Horse. Biden is a decoy.I still think that after the convention where Biden's nomination will be confirmed, he will have a mental collapse on the campaign trail and be replaced by party leaders. When that happens, Harris' status will be questionable.
Democrats appear to be in a unique position to "trial balloon" the ticket to see what attacks they receive by the Trump campaign. When Biden falters, Democrats can redo the ticket in response to the attacks they already received from Trump, deflecting the prior attacks and shielding the ticket from future repeat attacks. That might mean replacing Harris, too, if the attacks on her are particularly damaging.
This will force the Trump campaign to rearm their quivers to the new ticket, and possibly waste valuable ammo on the decoy Biden candidacy.
Running an incapacitated candidate with an unlikeable running mate may be a Mulligan strategy to take the initial incoming fire, and then run the real candidate in response.
They have to wait until after the convention to keep the Bernie Sanders people from demanding the nomination.

At this point this is well known and really disgusts me are these “republican” traitors trying to help clueless Joe win despite the fact that his C student mind is going fast.

Here's the rub to watch out for.First, watch who is chosen to be the VP on the ticket.
Second, watch what happens if Biden has a "condition" in late September or early October.
The thing, you know, the thing, is that while constitutionally, the Vice President becomes the President if the President is no longer able to do the job (or dies), the same is NOT true for a Vice President candidate. The Vice President candidate does not automatically advance to the President candidate slot if the actual candidate dies or becomes incapacitated; The respective party has to name a new replacement candidate.
The RNC rules (rule #9) stipulate that another convention be called to designate a replacement by majority delegate vote, and if not enough time then the state RNC representatives vote.
The DNC rules have a similar procedure for filling a national ticket vacancy by a majority vote of DNC representatives.
So, the VP choice could be a head fake, since the party can swap a different person after the convention but before the election.
The DNC party leaders can appoint Biden's replacement if he drops out due to medical incapacitation.
