I suspect after the Convention they will be ramping up the calls for Joe to step aside.

The party will likely sit back and do nothing as long as it looks like Biden can win, but if Joe's poll numbers take a dive over the next month or he really flubs the debates I wouldn't put it past them to try the old switcharoo....

However, the problem for democrats is because of their push for early and mail in voting, there will have been a significant number of votes already cast if Biden drops out in, say, mid-October. The law is pretty clear those votes would simply be discarded if he dropped out, no state in existence allows a vote to transfer to a different candidate or a "revote". So the more likely course the democrat party would take, would be to leave Biden on the top of the ballot so all his votes would count, but make it clear to voters "you may be checking the box for Biden....but you are REALLY voting for Harris."
