Twitter suspended the account of popular conservative Christian satire site The Babylon Bee on Monday, claiming they "violated our rules against platform manipulation and spam."
Minutes after Twitter suspended the account, "Babylon Bee" was trending on the platform.
Shortly thereafter, The Babylon Bee's account was apparently reinstated, but with zero followers. The account had 550,000 followers before being suspended.
The number of followers has risen since the event has been trending on Twitter. At publishing time, The Babylon Bee's account has 14,300 followers.
Twitter thinks satire is "platform manipulation and spam".
Rrrriiiiight.
By the way, this sounds like satire in its own right, but it is actually a true story.
Great nick for this thread. :)
Love The Bee. I hope they only have a bigger platform after this.
True story:
The Bee’s last headline before being banned?
“Pathetic Conservative Hasn’t Even Been Banned by Twitter Yet.”
If it hasn’t already, the Bee should do a story on its experience and lampoon @jack’s playtoy.
For a small moment in time, I consider signing up on Twitter just to follow groups like Babylon Bee. But then I come to my senses, remembering that I have never signed up for any social media, not even LinkedIn when I was working.
The twits at Twatter are ignorant as to the term ‘satire’. They probably believe the articles are factual....................
The bee should not be posted here.We have fun here but we’re not satire-there’s a war gong on. the rats know it.
Yes it should......
What about FR?

We are back. Twitter destroyed our headquarters with a drone strike, but we are being assured it was an honest mistake.
>>They’re now back up with 600K followers. Bigger than before the ban.
If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine. - Obi-Wan Kenobi
"You can't win, Twitter. If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine."
Trump has won the November 2020 election.
Any other result must be resisted with force.
You don’t have to sign up on Twitter to use Twitter...
I always think of “social media” as Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, Instagram, etc., as chatting sites. Quick bits, running dialogue. FR is mostly information exchange. The closest we get is vanities, and those are generally frowned upon here.
I don't understand this. I don't think I can post or like something on Twitter without logging in. That would seem to require signing up.
