After the statue was brought down, those involved hid nearby to change their clothes, but they were then arrested by LAPD officers in the area of Spring and Temple streets, according to the news release.
Those arrested are 20-year-old Elizabeth Brookey of Burbank; 28-year-old Anna Asher and 30-year-old Barham Lashley, both of North Hollywood; 22-year-old Andrew Johnson of Glendale; and 23-year-old Emma Juncosa and 33-year-old Christopher Woodard, both of Los Angeles.
The department said they found a gas mask, laser pointer, helmet, goggles and arm protectors in the belongings of those arrested.
All six were booked on $20,000 bail, according to county inmate records.
The life-size bronze statue of the first U.S. president dressed in a Revolutionary War military uniform is one of 30 bronze copies of the original 1796 sculpture by the French artist Jean-Antoine Houdon. The original stands in the Virginia State Capitol in Richmond, according to the L.A. Department of Arts and Culture.
The one that stood in Grand Park was bought by the Women’s Community Service and presented to L.A. County in 1933.

These are not snot-nosed, punk teenagers. In any other decade in the past, these would be considered as adults and would be living adult lives. Now they have unmatured brains, but adult bodies. I wonder if they still live stereotypically in their mother’s basements?

There are also laser protective glasses. Don’t know if they are too dark for active police duty or not. But if not, they should be issued to all police dealing with rioters.

Is the statue going to be repaired and restored to display?
Will the accused be required to pay for the restoration?
Hopefully prosecuted and sent to prison. Oh yeah, and FULL RESTITUTION, unable to be discharged in bankruptcy, and wages garnished till it’s paid, and extracted from any estate forever! It would be nice to extract it from their hides, but not possible unfortunately.

Yeah. My first thought was “With budget cuts we can’t afford them for all officers.” and “They are on back order. Most officers won’t get them for 6-8 weeks (from China).” Like masks used to be.
As you said , may not work in the dark with the need to see through the dark glasses. “Your honor, he couldn’t tell it was my client burning the restaurant due to his dark glasses that night.”
Not meaning to insult you, just making up an example—
So if one officer is peering in the dark at someone shooting at him and bouncing a big rock off his forehead of his helmet, he’s supposed to take careful aim like a TV cop and nick the guy’s meaty part of his shin so as to slow him down but not kill him? Or in New York the cop could face a hostile person of color jury and a snarky lawyer in civil court. That’s why NJ police department backed out.
