Michiganders will likely be wearing masks until Easter, the chief medical officer of Metro Health says.
The comment came Friday, Aug. 14, during a virtual press conference about the Kent County: Back to Work Safely program, a public health surveillance tool being used in Kent County to screen employees for COVID-19.
Dr. Ron Grifka is the chief medical officer for Metro Health, an affiliate of University of Michigan Health based near Grand Rapids. Grifka was one of many health experts and Kent County officials who met virtually Friday morning to discuss the infection rate in Kent County and beyond.
“As much as I hate to say it, we’re probably going to be wearing masks until maybe Easter,” Grifka said. “By that time, we’ll see the end of the respiratory season from winter to spring of next year.”

1) Biden wins the election and every memory of COVID-19 will disappear down the cultural memory hole faster than you can say “C’mon, man!”.

2) Trump wins the election, does a 180 degree pivot, starts calling out the BS and initiates investigations and mass firings on all of the people who have been scamming us.

Thursday August 13th 2020 report from the weeds: Battle Creek Firekeepers casino mask required and temp forehead check at door. Every other machine shut down. The place was packed. In at 3 out at 9. Hit on 1st 7 machines played (small ball) up $25...too soon to leave ended up down about $80. It was fun/entertaining to get out...and somewhat depressing.
Citizens must be binge-eating in lockdown. I’ve never seen so many overweight/unhealthy looking people...EVER...slobs...walkers...guts over belts...O2 tanks...amigos...comfort pets. An anxiety driven hot mess cluster f. I felt anorexic..like one of masked desperate, hollow-eyed zombies was going to chew on me for an appetizer before they started eating each other. Escape from Battle Creek. Where’s my movie. I coulda been somebody! I could be a star. Give Tarantino my #.
